  • Very Satisfied Customers

"We were some Very Satisfied Customers after renting this house for a girls get together. Plenty of space, beautiful setting, fun rec room. Enjoyed the fireplace and the heated tile flooring:) Very cozy. Nice to have a well stocked pantry for the small odd thing we may have forgotten to pack. Lyn was great in providing lots of useful information on the area for things to do and see. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and the secluded settings. Would definitely recommend to others. Everyone in our group has nothing but great things to say about the house and location. Really hope we get to visit again some time."

  • Perfect Wisconsin Getaway!

"My family was looking to rent a cabin somewhere that was relatively convenient for us traveling from Madison, Minneapolis and Duluth, and came upon this Knight Lake cabin. We ended up booking the Hemlock Cabin since it was a little bigger (there were 7 of us), and Mark and Irene made the rest very easy. The lake is located about 10 minutes outside Merrill, WI; close enough to town but still feels pretty isolated. No motors are allowed on the lake so it was incredibly peaceful and quiet (probably the most noise came from our cabin!). The lake is rather small, but perfect for just swimming and canoeing/paddleboating, which is mostly what we did during our stay the first week of August. We got really lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the water almost every day. The cabin rental comes with a rowboat, but Mark and Irene were very gracious and let us borrow their paddleboat and canoe whenever we wanted. Being city folk, we didn't fish but it's a rental made for fishing enthusiasts. The cabin is very quaint, and though updated over the years, has kept it's rustic charm. The kitchen has everything you'd need as well as a gas grill outside. We ended up grilling over the fire a few times since a fire tripod grill was provided. Sleeping was sufficient: 4 in the bunk room and 3 in the living room. The couch turns into a big futon bed and there is also a daybed which sleeps one. Irene was great and had a lot of good information about the area in case we wanted to venture out. She was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with for the stay. I highly recommend Knight Lake if you're looking for a quiet northwoods getaway!"

  • Perfectly outfitted, clean, quiet & comfortable

"My husband & I (and our dog, Roscoe) mixed business & pleasure and escaped to this wonderful little Piece of Heaven here on earth to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary and to facilitate his proximity to Bear Creek, WI. What a pleasant surprise awaited us at the end of quiet cul-de-sac in the quaint little town of Maniwa. The cottage is clean and has all of the amenities that you could ask for. Our first morning greeted us with a picture perfect sunrise over the pond, complete with a birder's-dream-come-true, as there were many species not normally seen, except during migration season. Next, we saw a hen turkey, who was tending to her daily routine of checking out the property. From the driveway to the end of Pond Street is 1 mile and Roscoe & I enjoyed daily walks through the pleasant neighborhood. On one of our day outings, the three of us went in search of cheese factories & found four in the immediate area. We couldn't decide on what to bring home for souvenirs, so we brought home a variety of cheeses to share with family & friends. The next day we walked the Sturgeon Trail & happened upon the St. Patrick's Day parade in New London. What fun! I guess the long & short of it is that if you want to just stay put, the cottage certainly lends it's self to that. If you do like to explore, the cottage is perfectly situated for that, as well. We found our stay much too short & hope to have the opportunity to return."

  • Peaceful and cozy

"We really appreciated staying here. It was very comfortable, more spacious than I thought, and had everything we needed. The owners were very nice and responded to us quickly. The lake is beautiful. We stayed in the middle of winter and it was warm and comfortable. We even got out there to ice fish! Thank you! We would stay again!"
