  • Awesome place for a private getaway

"This place is perfect. If you're looking for a quiet peaceful week, and just want to fall off the grid for a while, this is the place to go. The views and scenery is absolutely beautiful. And the chalet itself is very clean and well maintained with everything you need. Dennis and kathy are two very nice people and they thought of everything you need and more for a week away from home. We will be back."

  • Family vacation was perfect in a perfect setting.

"The home was as beautiful as expected, even more so. The property was gorgeous! Very clean. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. We made use of the fire pit a couple of nights. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina, very good prices and very close to the house. We had fun playing pool and using the great recroom. We had a wonderful time. The house is perfect for more then one family. Thank You, Karla and Mike"

  • Perfect Wisconsin Getaway!

"My family was looking to rent a cabin somewhere that was relatively convenient for us traveling from Madison, Minneapolis and Duluth, and came upon this Knight Lake cabin. We ended up booking the Hemlock Cabin since it was a little bigger (there were 7 of us), and Mark and Irene made the rest very easy. The lake is located about 10 minutes outside Merrill, WI; close enough to town but still feels pretty isolated. No motors are allowed on the lake so it was incredibly peaceful and quiet (probably the most noise came from our cabin!). The lake is rather small, but perfect for just swimming and canoeing/paddleboating, which is mostly what we did during our stay the first week of August. We got really lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the water almost every day. The cabin rental comes with a rowboat, but Mark and Irene were very gracious and let us borrow their paddleboat and canoe whenever we wanted. Being city folk, we didn't fish but it's a rental made for fishing enthusiasts. The cabin is very quaint, and though updated over the years, has kept it's rustic charm. The kitchen has everything you'd need as well as a gas grill outside. We ended up grilling over the fire a few times since a fire tripod grill was provided. Sleeping was sufficient: 4 in the bunk room and 3 in the living room. The couch turns into a big futon bed and there is also a daybed which sleeps one. Irene was great and had a lot of good information about the area in case we wanted to venture out. She was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with for the stay. I highly recommend Knight Lake if you're looking for a quiet northwoods getaway!"

  • Love this place

"We have stayed at this cabin two years in a row and expect to back in the future. We love the Waupaca area and this cabin is the right combination of getting away from it all and being comfortable and connected. The cabin is on the small, quiet, no-wake Lake Beasley. The lake is clear and great for swimming, kayaking, fishing and canoeing. It was great that two kayak's and two canoes were provided. The only negative to the property is that the shoreline is mucky. If you had small children that wanted to walk right in to the lake from the shore this place would not work. However, it does have a long pier with an attached floating raft that goes far enough into the lake that you can jump and swim right off the end and be in good water for swimming. There is a large area shown in the picture with a fire pit. We used it most nights. The cabin itself is certainly not luxurious, but has everything you really need. Including a tv with cable and internet access. Beds are comfy and each bedroom has a air conditioner/heater that when on can really heat/cool the entire cabin. We had to use the heater one night that got pretty chilly! We also love the Waupaca area. We have a favorite restaurant (The Wheelhouse), ice cream place (Scoopers) and we love to hike and bike in Hartman State Park which is basically across the road. The owners of this cabin also will consider pets, which is great. I think our dog had as much fun on vacation as we did. We just love sitting on the pier and drinking coffee in the morning and looking out over the lake. That is truly paradise to us."
