  • LOVED IT!

"We had a wonderful weekend here. It is so peaceful and beautiful I would recommend it to anyone who needs a getaway or a romantic weekend. The house is immaculate and every amenity from paper towels to pancake syrup is provided. The beds are comfy and the game room is fun. I have absolutely no complaints and can't wait to plan another getaway here soon!"

  • Great Place to Stay

"We recently stayed for a birthday weekend for my brother. We had a great time staying at this rental. It had everything we needed and it was only 20 minutes from Granite Peak which is probably the best skiing in the Midwest. When we were not skiing we were able to relax and enjoy the game room and the hot tub. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably! Would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone from old to young. We are looking for a place to hold another gathering in the summer and this rental will definitely be in the running!"

  • Perfect Wisconsin Getaway!

"My family was looking to rent a cabin somewhere that was relatively convenient for us traveling from Madison, Minneapolis and Duluth, and came upon this Knight Lake cabin. We ended up booking the Hemlock Cabin since it was a little bigger (there were 7 of us), and Mark and Irene made the rest very easy. The lake is located about 10 minutes outside Merrill, WI; close enough to town but still feels pretty isolated. No motors are allowed on the lake so it was incredibly peaceful and quiet (probably the most noise came from our cabin!). The lake is rather small, but perfect for just swimming and canoeing/paddleboating, which is mostly what we did during our stay the first week of August. We got really lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the water almost every day. The cabin rental comes with a rowboat, but Mark and Irene were very gracious and let us borrow their paddleboat and canoe whenever we wanted. Being city folk, we didn't fish but it's a rental made for fishing enthusiasts. The cabin is very quaint, and though updated over the years, has kept it's rustic charm. The kitchen has everything you'd need as well as a gas grill outside. We ended up grilling over the fire a few times since a fire tripod grill was provided. Sleeping was sufficient: 4 in the bunk room and 3 in the living room. The couch turns into a big futon bed and there is also a daybed which sleeps one. Irene was great and had a lot of good information about the area in case we wanted to venture out. She was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with for the stay. I highly recommend Knight Lake if you're looking for a quiet northwoods getaway!"

  • 100 Thumbs Up

"What a privilege it was to stay at this beautiful house while on our family ski vacation. At breakfast I asked our family members what comments I should make on the VRBO website regarding this lodging arrangement. The comments were: loved the beautiful woodwork and beams, the kids liked their own play area in the rec room downstairs, very clean, kitchen has everything you need, the big TV was great for the Packer game, but the best comment came from the youngest, a 9 year old, “100 thumbs up!!”. Thank you Jeff and Lyn for your help and suggestions on enjoying the area. Having the house gorgeously decorated for Christmas was the frosting on the cake."
