Recent Elkhart Lake property reviews

  • Character and Convenience

"This quaint apartment is upstairs in a home that is within easy walking distance of all the great little establishments in Elkhart Lake. It is very well stocked with all the necessities to take up residence including detergents for the kitchen and bath amenities. The owner is very attentive to any needs and was very helpful and responsive to questions and concerns. One note is that there are 15 steps up to this second floor location which may be difficult for some travelers."

  • Amazing Location, Plenty of Space, Incredible Value!

"I recently hosted a golf weekend at this location and all I can say is it was awesome. Everyone had the best of times and we even had a conversation over dinner on just how great of a find this house was. The house is located on a corner offering a private stay with plenty of room for everyone. The interior offers upgrades and retro fittings that create the perfect combination for an incredible value. The basement offers a step back in time while the backyard offers the perfect area to relax, grill, and play yard games until sunset. The owner, Mandi, offers a high level of communication that sometimes gets overlooked at other VRBO's. She readily answered all of my questions and kept the lines of communication open at all times. She was a pleasure to work with. If you are looking to be close to everything but also seek the privacy not offered at resorts, look no further. I would recommend to anyone if they asked."

  • Weekend Wedding Retreat

"The carriage house was just what our party of two couples needed for a weekend wedding retreat. Upon arrival we found that the owners left a welcoming note and bottle of wine with snacks. In addition to the house being immaculately clean, the amount of kitchen gadgets even allowed our friend to bake a pie. Inside the nicely appointed bedrooms the bathroom Kohler fixtures showed off local pride. (I highly recommend visiting the Kohler design center.) When I book rentals I am always curious about the layout--you enter the house from the back side garage bays where there is a set of stairs leading to the second floor. In front of you is a dining table for 6, then to your right is a large open kitchen with island, and then the living room space with sofa, arm chairs, TV, and desk area. The apartment features vaulted ceilings. The numerous windows in the kitchen/dining look out over the lake for peek-a-boo views and the windows in the bedrooms and living room look into the trees. The on suite bedrooms are to the left and right of the shared living space and feature window seats and plenty of privacy. There is also a small utility room with cleaning supplies and laundry off the dining area. All the furnishings are basic, comfortable, and in fine condition. Although we were there for a wedding (it was the first time any of us had traveled to beautiful Wisconsin) it was also a race weekend. The sound of race cars started and ended at reasonable times during the day so it had minimal impact on the evening relaxation. One of my highlights was going out kayaking on our first evening and understanding why it is called Crystal Lake. Overall this rental proved to be a great choice for our party. I was pleased with the layout, the owners communication and hospitality, and the location."

  • Good for Sunny or Rainy Days! Great Location for Road America Fans - a couple miles from track

"Totally enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and maintained. I would recommend this property - the house is very comfortable. Open kitchen, eating and living area works great and well stocked for the on the go group or for cooking for a group. Also great to have the gas grill to use. Having a wrap around deck was nice also. We were pleasantly surprised that Road America was so close. After a long day out it was nice to have a short drive and come back to relax, watch tv or movies or go out to the nearby restaurants. Unfortuantely we didn't use the canoes that were there for our use. Lake looked inviting. Quick walk or drive to the Lakehouse Bar/Restaurant for Pizza which was really good. A lunch and dinner at Siebkens Resort in Elkhart Lake was great.along with a dinner at 52 Stafford Hotel. Also enjoyed going to the Kohler Design Center. Next time we will spend more time seeing more of the area."
