  • FANTASTIC !!!!

"The booking experience was a breeze. Nicola was immediately responsive to the initial inquiry and the transaction couldn't have been easier. The location is a stones throw from I 43 and very easy to find. My first impression was WOW !!!! The first impression was not deceiving....it is an outstanding property !!!! The ambiance is of a modernized summer home of the 1930's, but I have never stayed in such a finely constructed and appointed lake home. The house was lacking nothing. Bath and a half, every kitchen utensil ever needed, lots of warm water for the whirlpool bath, killer deck, spotlessly clean , crisp clean sheets, very comfortable bed, a ton of pillows and towels, central air ( didn't need it), WIFI , TV, ( had to check the weather), grill, fire pit, and privacy.... In spite of all that, the real attraction is the Million dollar view !!!! There are large picture windows facing Lake Michigan. Fantastic !!! The pictures don't really do justice to how close the house is to the water . Neither do they really bring out the character of the house. The beach was well kept, clean, and with comfortable chairs and an umbrella. The other property renters were not close enough to be an intrusion. Only caveat is the cell phone coverage is spotty ...sometimes 4G , sometimes, no service. But what the heck , I didn't care...I was on vacation !! Text message worked. If you cant live without your cell you can hook up to the WIFI and that problem was solved. Also, they have a land line, so no obstacle to must make phone calls. In summary Barbadon was a 5 star property that I intend to re visit...."

  • A wonderfull week again!

"This is our second stay at Deb's cottage. We stayed for a week about the same time last year. Couldn't have been a better week. Sun was hot, water was great and skies were clear. Our family welcomed the lack of internet, TV or any intrusion from the outside world. We had our two teenage daughters, a friend of thiers and our two dogs. It is a great thing to see teenagers realize the value of turning off thier phones and having to do absolutely nothing for a week except eat, sleep, sun .... The cottage had everything we needed, was very confortable and well stocked with the every day stuff. Hoping to do a threepeat visit next year! If you get a chance to go, Sheboygan Falls is just down the road and has some cute shops and restaurants, try the Bean and Bread.Great Food!"

  • Relaxing by the Lake

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the sun coming up and listening to the waves lapping on shore at night. Campfires at night were a must. Would definitely consider returning next summer."

  • Escape the craziness of work

"This is our third trip to the Oostburg-based beach; our first to this charming home. The home sits right on the lake and offers a wonderful escape from the craziness of work! In fact, expect to take a full break from work because hotspots and cell service are spotty without a road trip toward town! But, ask yourself, why work when the lake beckons you to slow down and enjoy the fruits of your labour? Each morning the lakeside patio invited us to sit with coffee and watch the morning unfold across the lake or walk the mile plus of sandy shoreline. The quaint kitchen and Weber grill on the patio offered sufficient tools to cook a meal or make appetizers for happy hour. Bring bicycles. Town is just a short, 3-mile trip west; Andrea Kohler State Park, 5.5 miles to the north. When you return, take one of the loungers down to the sand, and do nothing. Come nightfall, watch the stars move across the expansive sky then fall asleep in the European style master bedroom (two twin beds) listening to the waves. Insider Tips: Stay in touch with the owner. Ask for an early check-in (5:00pm is hardly enough time to get oriented and you pay for the entire day). And be prepared for the 10:00am required departure, which makes the end of your relaxing trip rushed."
