  • A perfect vacation!

"We loved the Beach House! The location was quiet and secluded with lots of beach and woods to explore. Lake Michiga was COLD (52 degrees), but the kids all loved the beach. It is shallow and sandy out to about 30 yards, so we didn't have to worry about them falling in. The house is put together in a way that there are two bedrooms with double beds together and the other 3 bedrooms are spaced apart so that we didn't hear the other couples/families during the night. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had foosball and pool tournaments late at night and a treasure hunt during the day. The owner was very helpful with recommendations on docking our boat, etc. I can't imagine a more relaxing, fun place to get togther with friends and family."

  • Satisfied multiple-time renter of this charming home in quaint Elkhart Lake

"Returned for fourth stay over the last 5 years. Continuous ownership, investment and hospitality by the current owner have made this property a vacation favorite for our family. Interior has been fully updated over the last several years (including beautiful new kitchen and remodeled bathrooms) while maintaining it's historic Victorian appeal. Great central Elkhart Lake location with a short walk to beach, resorts and restaurants. Comfortable beds, top notch linens and lots of little touches give this property all the qualities of a fine home away from home. Access to large two car garage for cars, bikes, beach equipment, etc. also a nice feature. We will definitely come back again."

  • Little Cottage

"We visited the Little Cottage during the first week of October. Late in the season :) The posting does not misrepresent the property in any way. Lake is JUST outside one of the two sets of sliding glass doors. Beautiful view of the sunrises and even the blood moon over the lake. The cottage is next to the owners' home and while it is visible from the cottage I never felt they were intruding on our visit nor that we were imposing on their space. If you are from the city, I can see why you might be a little uncomfortable with the sheerness/lack of window coverings :) However, the only reason I mention them is that others have commented and I want to reassure any readers that this should not be a major concern. Cottage is well-kept, all possible toys for accessing the lake are provided, and it really is amazing how little you would need to bring if staying longer and/or wanting to do more outside. Hennings Cheese is indeed wonderful. Kiel is close by and has a nice Piggly Wiggle for stocking up on groceries after you arrive. Also a McDonald's if you love mocha frappes like myself. Location provides easy and quick access to Lake Michigan, Lake Winnebago, Green Bay (one of their players graduated from our alma mater), etc. During our travel with Boy Scouts, we have visited similar locations with cabin/cottage accommodations so we have some experience in these settings. This property/scenery ranks up there with SD, MN, and NM. Wonderful place to stay :) Thank you. I did not recommend this property for teenagers because, while I think teenagers would benefit from disconnecting for awhile, I can see them getting grumpy and making parents miserable :) I also was not sure about recommending it for people with disabilities. My professional career was in education and I have some familiarity with ADA regulations. However, if you are concerned about accessibility, please do not hesitate to contact the owners and ask if the property would be appropriate for your specific situation. They are delightful people :) and would do their very best to assist you."
