"We definitely had a great time. Everything was in good shape and the house was in terrific repair. It must be insulated well, because three of us slept upstairs and it was hot all the time even with the vents closed and heat turned down. We were disappointed that the fireplace did not work during the cold evenings, but I guess that must come on when it's below zero because at 32 it doesn't work. Thank you for allowing us to stay. We definitely enjoyed the area and would recommend the place to anyone and everyone!"

"My wife and I were in need of some much deserved R&R and the House of Ten Rivers delivered! It satisfied everything we had hoped for: privacy, peace and quite, amazing Lake front location, beautiful sunrises, and a comfortable home. It didn't take long for us to decompress, as the weather was perfect so the house was open to the sound of the waves, which made for some great sleeping! We spent the majority of the time taking endless walks along the shoreline, followed by hours in our beach chairs next to the lake. The home has easy access to the beach/lake without the hassle of climbing flights of stairs. So hanging out at the beach was a breeze! We did pull ourselves away from our little piece of paradise and had some very good meals. In Two Rivers we recommend Kurtz's for great sandwiches and excellent German Beer. Also in Two Rivers is Waverly Inn Pizza, where we had some of the best pizza ever! Just down the road is the town of Manitowoc, and we had a great dinner at The Courthouse Pub. Green Bay is just a 30-40 minute drive and there is an excellent German eatery called the Lorelei. There are plenty of activities to indulge in (if you can pull yourself away from Lake front peace and quite), but other than our dinners out, we stayed put! The house itself is very comfortable and we especially like keeping the patio doors open at night and falling asleep to the sound of waves. Sunrises came early, but they were beautiful. The owners; Char and John, met us upon arrival and spent just the right amount of time making sure we got settled in and they were very accessible throughout the week. You can tell that they really I love their home! Regrets? Yes; we had to leave!
Our week was a dream week and we will definitely return when it's time for more R&R!!"

"We loved the Beach House! The location was quiet and secluded with lots of beach and woods to explore. Lake Michiga was COLD (52 degrees), but the kids all loved the beach. It is shallow and sandy out to about 30 yards, so we didn't have to worry about them falling in. The house is put together in a way that there are two bedrooms with double beds together and the other 3 bedrooms are spaced apart so that we didn't hear the other couples/families during the night. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had foosball and pool tournaments late at night and a treasure hunt during the day. The owner was very helpful with recommendations on docking our boat, etc. I can't imagine a more relaxing, fun place to get togther with friends and family."

Creative, Comfortable, Modern, Relaxing, and Well-Equipped House with Amazing Host!
"My family and I stayed at the Hummingbird Retreat for my sister's wedding over the weekend. The Retreat surpassed all of my expectations! Kevin and his girlfriend Karen were quite the gracious hosts and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. They were even willing to rent us the Chickadee at the last minute so we could house additional family members. Our family used the Hummingbird Retreat's kitchen to prepare a massive amount of food for the wedding. I'm not sure what we would have done without that kitchen given how spacious and well equipped it was. Seriously, there were all sorts of resources available, including an electric juicer! The surroundings of the retreat are rustic and calming and you can take it all in from numerous cozy spots, including the inviting screened in pavilion out back. We had some pretty chilly and rainy weather despite it being mid-June but we warmed ourselves in the hot tub and the Retreat itself was plenty warm. The decor and layout of the Retreat was very creative and had character all of its own. I often found myself admiring the attention to detail that was readily apparent throughout the house and grounds. I hope to return for another stay very soon; until then you shouldn't hesitate to stay at the Hummingbird Retreat!"
