  • Wonderful beach home

"We rented this house in June 2013 and liked it so much we returned this past September for another week's stay. We appreciated how clean, comfortable, and well-equipped the house was. We enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning and the full moon shimmering on the water at night. The view from the house and deck is stunning. We greatly enjoyed our many quiet walks along the clean and ever-changing beaches. The sound of the waves was was a constant reminder of the greatness of Lake Michigan. We would highly recommend this beach home as a vacation spot."

  • Escape the craziness of work

"This is our third trip to the Oostburg-based beach; our first to this charming home. The home sits right on the lake and offers a wonderful escape from the craziness of work! In fact, expect to take a full break from work because hotspots and cell service are spotty without a road trip toward town! But, ask yourself, why work when the lake beckons you to slow down and enjoy the fruits of your labour? Each morning the lakeside patio invited us to sit with coffee and watch the morning unfold across the lake or walk the mile plus of sandy shoreline. The quaint kitchen and Weber grill on the patio offered sufficient tools to cook a meal or make appetizers for happy hour. Bring bicycles. Town is just a short, 3-mile trip west; Andrea Kohler State Park, 5.5 miles to the north. When you return, take one of the loungers down to the sand, and do nothing. Come nightfall, watch the stars move across the expansive sky then fall asleep in the European style master bedroom (two twin beds) listening to the waves. Insider Tips: Stay in touch with the owner. Ask for an early check-in (5:00pm is hardly enough time to get oriented and you pay for the entire day). And be prepared for the 10:00am required departure, which makes the end of your relaxing trip rushed."

  • Beautiful, Comfy, Quiet and Tons of Space

"This is a large, beautiful home with lots of space to enjoy and very comfortable beds/rooms. Our family enjoyed the screened in patio and huge yard to play football and outdoor games with the kids. We visited Gerber Lake each day and the weather was just gorgeous! This was our Christmas gift to our 4 married children and 4 grandsons. Everyone enjoyed their stay and want to return to this beautiful home in Plymouth! Terry let us check in early and was very nice to work with. Thank you Terry and we will be in touch in the future."

  • Little Cottage

"We visited the Little Cottage during the first week of October. Late in the season :) The posting does not misrepresent the property in any way. Lake is JUST outside one of the two sets of sliding glass doors. Beautiful view of the sunrises and even the blood moon over the lake. The cottage is next to the owners' home and while it is visible from the cottage I never felt they were intruding on our visit nor that we were imposing on their space. If you are from the city, I can see why you might be a little uncomfortable with the sheerness/lack of window coverings :) However, the only reason I mention them is that others have commented and I want to reassure any readers that this should not be a major concern. Cottage is well-kept, all possible toys for accessing the lake are provided, and it really is amazing how little you would need to bring if staying longer and/or wanting to do more outside. Hennings Cheese is indeed wonderful. Kiel is close by and has a nice Piggly Wiggle for stocking up on groceries after you arrive. Also a McDonald's if you love mocha frappes like myself. Location provides easy and quick access to Lake Michigan, Lake Winnebago, Green Bay (one of their players graduated from our alma mater), etc. During our travel with Boy Scouts, we have visited similar locations with cabin/cottage accommodations so we have some experience in these settings. This property/scenery ranks up there with SD, MN, and NM. Wonderful place to stay :) Thank you. I did not recommend this property for teenagers because, while I think teenagers would benefit from disconnecting for awhile, I can see them getting grumpy and making parents miserable :) I also was not sure about recommending it for people with disabilities. My professional career was in education and I have some familiarity with ADA regulations. However, if you are concerned about accessibility, please do not hesitate to contact the owners and ask if the property would be appropriate for your specific situation. They are delightful people :) and would do their very best to assist you."
