  • Comfortable Lakeside Home

"My family and I spent a most enjoyable week at this wonderful home during the EAA convention. After a day at the airport we would return to BBQ and relax on the deck and in the living room. Beds were comfortable and the amenities provided made for a very enjoyable trip. Steve the owner was there to show us around and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone who is going to stay in the Oshkosh area."

  • Great Little Getaway

"The Blue Lagoon cottage was very homey, spacious and super clean. Everything was perfect from the sunrise through the bedroom window when we awoke, to the loaf of pumpkin bread in the refrigerator when we arrived. My wife and I spent time on the dock overlooking Lake Winnebago with our coffee, unwinding and reconnecting. You have to go to Wendt’s On The Lake for their perch to die for. Patti and Steve were great hosts and provided great communication from booking to departure."

  • Little Cottage

"We visited the Little Cottage during the first week of October. Late in the season :) The posting does not misrepresent the property in any way. Lake is JUST outside one of the two sets of sliding glass doors. Beautiful view of the sunrises and even the blood moon over the lake. The cottage is next to the owners' home and while it is visible from the cottage I never felt they were intruding on our visit nor that we were imposing on their space. If you are from the city, I can see why you might be a little uncomfortable with the sheerness/lack of window coverings :) However, the only reason I mention them is that others have commented and I want to reassure any readers that this should not be a major concern. Cottage is well-kept, all possible toys for accessing the lake are provided, and it really is amazing how little you would need to bring if staying longer and/or wanting to do more outside. Hennings Cheese is indeed wonderful. Kiel is close by and has a nice Piggly Wiggle for stocking up on groceries after you arrive. Also a McDonald's if you love mocha frappes like myself. Location provides easy and quick access to Lake Michigan, Lake Winnebago, Green Bay (one of their players graduated from our alma mater), etc. During our travel with Boy Scouts, we have visited similar locations with cabin/cottage accommodations so we have some experience in these settings. This property/scenery ranks up there with SD, MN, and NM. Wonderful place to stay :) Thank you. I did not recommend this property for teenagers because, while I think teenagers would benefit from disconnecting for awhile, I can see them getting grumpy and making parents miserable :) I also was not sure about recommending it for people with disabilities. My professional career was in education and I have some familiarity with ADA regulations. However, if you are concerned about accessibility, please do not hesitate to contact the owners and ask if the property would be appropriate for your specific situation. They are delightful people :) and would do their very best to assist you."

  • FANTASTIC !!!!

"The booking experience was a breeze. Nicola was immediately responsive to the initial inquiry and the transaction couldn't have been easier. The location is a stones throw from I 43 and very easy to find. My first impression was WOW !!!! The first impression was not deceiving....it is an outstanding property !!!! The ambiance is of a modernized summer home of the 1930's, but I have never stayed in such a finely constructed and appointed lake home. The house was lacking nothing. Bath and a half, every kitchen utensil ever needed, lots of warm water for the whirlpool bath, killer deck, spotlessly clean , crisp clean sheets, very comfortable bed, a ton of pillows and towels, central air ( didn't need it), WIFI , TV, ( had to check the weather), grill, fire pit, and privacy.... In spite of all that, the real attraction is the Million dollar view !!!! There are large picture windows facing Lake Michigan. Fantastic !!! The pictures don't really do justice to how close the house is to the water . Neither do they really bring out the character of the house. The beach was well kept, clean, and with comfortable chairs and an umbrella. The other property renters were not close enough to be an intrusion. Only caveat is the cell phone coverage is spotty ...sometimes 4G , sometimes, no service. But what the heck , I didn't care...I was on vacation !! Text message worked. If you cant live without your cell you can hook up to the WIFI and that problem was solved. Also, they have a land line, so no obstacle to must make phone calls. In summary Barbadon was a 5 star property that I intend to re visit...."
