  • Review of Lily Lake House (rental 419944)

"House was set up and ready. Everything needed was there. Plenty of room with private space and gathering areas. Well kept and clean. Simply bring food and personal items----everything else is taken care of for you. Very pretty and private setting. What more could you want?"

  • Nicely equipped and secluded

"We had a group of 9 in this clean spacious cabin. We were very pleased with the way the house was laid out and the amenities. From little things like lots of towels and linens and lots of hooks to hang towels and gear, to the kayaks and canoes that are included. Kitchen was well equipped and the 2 refrigerators worked well for food and drinks. We appreciated the quality dry firewood provided (honor system payments). It is nice paddle down the river to the lake (and the eagle's nest). We caught a bucket full of crawfish for dinner in the river by hand and they were the best we had ever had (including 'Nawlins). Lots of wildlife to see including river otters, herons, kingfisher, loons and more. If you are into biking the roads and trails are perfect for hybrids or mountain bikes. The property is on a peninsula / bend in the river and you cannot see the neighbors. Definitely recommended."

  • Secluded beauty

"Overall, we had a great time at the cabin. It was quiet as quiet gets. Very secluded and peaceful. We had the lake all to ourselves almost the entire time. The bass fishing was fantastic, and we caught some monster bluegill too. We heard some loons at night, and saw an eagle circling around the lake almost every day. There was plenty of room for the little rascals to run around, which we needed on a couple of our rainy days. We enjoyed being able to utilize the large garage space. It was very clean all throughout the cabin, from the basement to the loft, that's a rare find. There were only few maintenance items that I think can be fairly easily addressed, one being the numerous light bulbs that were out throughout the house, including the lampposts by the docks. Another being the oars for the would've been really nice if they were the same length. The last one being the number of bats making the house their home. Granted, we are in the woods, so a few can be expected, but there somewhere between 30 and 40 above the hot tub. there were a lot of bat droppings on the hot tub cover and on the deck each day, even though we would clean it off. we even had one fly into the hot tub while a few of us were in it. Everything else met or exceeded our expectations. It was exactly as the pictures show, nothing was misleading. I would recommend this cabin for family vacationers like ours, it seems well suited for all ages. Sandy was great in responding to our questions, always very prompt. This was one of the nicest cabins we've stayed at, with an outstanding location to boot."
