  • As Good As Advertised

"The Pack Shack was as advertised. Very nice place and no complaints. While we didn't spend that much time there outside of sleeping, we did enjoy the back patio for a bit and the kitchen/downstairs offered a nice gathering spot. The bathrooms were nice, and the entire house was clean. Jeff was very easy to work with as well."

  • great Escape

"The cabin and the location were everything we were expecting. The location was perfect for us as it was very close to a few awesome parks and a lighthouse. It was also away from the traffic and people in fish creek and egg harbor but yet close enough to easily get there. We had awesome sunrises every morning! We would definitely come back here again. Door County is a beautiful area with so much to see and do! Our only complaint was that the mosquitos were bad by the lake and that we were very disappointed in the golf course that we played at. Other than that our trip was perfect."

  • Perfect fall get away

"We can not recommend this place enough. The cabin is excellent. The one thing I was worried about was the bathroom since there are no pictures. It is huge, and there is a separate room for a shower. Anyway, the cabin has a kitchen that is fully stocked with any utensil you'll need. I'd recommend bringing food because it is quite a bit more expensive once you're on the peninsula (at least compared to Chicago). There is an indoor fireplace upstairs that we enjoyed a few times. There is another fireplace outside, which is also beautiful. Other reviewers have pointed out the proximity of the Cana Cove lighthouse. IT IS SO CLOSE. At night, in the loft, it appears so close that you would think you can touch it. Sidenote, if you're there in season take the tour. It's worth it. There is a huge yard that was good fod us (just a married couple). It would be great for kids or dogs, too. The shore is maybe 100 yards away. It is quite a rocky shore, so you won't be swimming. But it is on the lake side, and it is absolutely beautiful. The peninsula is fairly compact so you're only about 20 or so minutes from the bigger towns (Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Sister Bay). Baileys Harbor itself has some nice things, too, especially its shoreline park. Overall, I completely recommend this cabin. It's a little different in that you have some more responsibility to bring your own sheets and turn on the water heater. However, you can not beat the price. Keep in mind that we had almost zero cell serive on the peninsula at all, let alone at the cabin (ATT and T Mobile). There is no internet or landline at the cabin, either. It was weird for the first day, but then the disconnect was kind of nice. I was a little nervous about there not being a land line at the cabin in case of an emergency, but obviously I lived to tell the tale! If you're looking for a beautiful, amazing place to stay in Door County, look no further. The cabin is excellent, the locaiton is excellent, and the owner is excellent. Jim was available constantly when a few issues arose before and after our trip. We are already looking forward to our nect trip."

  • Great House

"Enjoyed our stay at this great house with plenty of space for relaxing either in a huge screen porch or on the upper deck with a view of the water. Great bike rides in the area, close to the ferry to Washington Island, two State Parks and plenty of shopping and restaurants. Lots of room for family gatherings."
