  • Secluded Getaway

"My fiance and I, along with our labrador, just got back from a wonderful stay at the Shalom Stone house. It is very secluded and backs up to the Lake. The yard is not fenced in but it is bordered by many bushes and trees so that you can't see any neighbors. We were able to let our dog out in the backyard without a leash and she never wondered off the property. We really enjoyed the fire pit and being able to walk out to the lake for a swim. This cabin is fully stocked with bedding, games, kitchen utensils, microwave, fridge, even a bread maker! Jim was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating. Just be careful on Highway Q at night, there were a ton of frogs crossing the street and we had to really pay close attention not to hit any of them! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Jim!"

  • Historic Cozy Cottage on a Quiet Bay: Perfect for Families

"What a perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! This cottage is full of history! We stayed here with our 3 children (15, 12, and 8) and had a lovely time! The cottage is remarkably clean and comfortable. We fell in love immediately when we opened the door. Our children enjoyed learning about the history of the North Bay Fish Company. The owners have books in the home that tell the story of the Fish Company along with many historic documents and photographs. It was so interesting! In the evenings we made memories and laughed as we played games and watched the stars! The campfire pit was perfect for telling stories....we may have made up some stories of lost fishermen at sea! Our favorite part of the cottage was the canoe. We canoed around North Bay and enjoyed the solitude of being with nature. We spotted birds nests, deer, fish, birds, frogs, crayfish and more. So peaceful and relaxing on North Bay yet only 4 miles to Wilson's! This cottage is in the perfect location! Special thanks to the Steffen Family for sharing their special piece of paradise with us! We loved every moment of our vacation! (Especially the fresh cut wildflowers!)"

  • Weekend Getaway From Chicago

"Some friends and I decided to get out of Chicago and head to Door County for a long weekend. We came across The Cedar Beach Inn and I'm so glad we did! The Cedar Beach Inn sits directly on Lake Michigan and has amazing views of the lake. It was snowing for part of the time, so we spent our time savoring meals (and wine) in the fully-stocked main kitchen, chatting, and enjoying the views of the amazing lake and snowfall from the heated sun room in back. The Cedar Beach Inn has tons of knick-knacks and antiques from around the world that are very cool to play with and read about. I really felt at home and comfortable during the entire stay. Oh yeah, they even have an impressive DVD collection. Since the Inn is right off the main road ("Main" road, it's still quiet), we walked up to the road to a local bar where we had some tasty Wisconsin beers and got to chat with the locals. We even met the town President and got some great tips on nearby lookout points and cross-country skiing trails to check out! One afternoon we took a drive up the peninsula to discover the neighboring towns and stumbled across a bakery with the most amazing cherry pie made with cherries from the local orchards. Another night we went up to The Coyote Roadhouse for dinner and enjoyed watching all the locals pull up in their snow mobiles. We will definitely be renting some snowmobiles when we return this winter! The Cedar Beach Inn is stocked with everything you need to comfortably enjoy your stay. We enjoyed our stay so much we already have plans to return, this time with more friends! I've been to Door County a few times in the winter and really can't get enough!"

  • Milwaukee Family group

"We were very satisfied and enjoyed our stay. The three-story format provided privacy as well as comfortable spaces for getting together. We liked the large dining table because we usually take turns fixing dinner, except for a final night at a good restaurant. The upstairs master suite was very attractive although the queen bed seemed small. The space would easily house a king bed. The adjacent den with an attached upper deck patio was really nice for reading or computer work. The kitchen was very up to date with stainless steel appliances, a good supply of dishes, granite counter, and an almost adequate supply of pots and pans for the stove. The house was very clean, the sheets and towels were good quality, and the only problem we had with the half-bath toilet. Overall, we thought it was a top-notch rental."
