"Our family has spend a lot of time on the North Shore of MN and we love Madeline Island but this was our first visit to Door County. When we travel we use VRBO and were impressed with the helpful pictures and related information on the Killasonna website. It sounded like the perfect cabin for us in a great location. Both of those were true. The cabin was better than we imagined. We love to cook and the kitchen is great. We also love to eat out and there is no shortage of places nearby. We were also in close proximity to great coffee shop. We were training for a rollerblade race which requires smoother roads than needed for biking. John said the road just outside the lodge was good - and it was great. The close proximity to excellent parks and beaches and hiking topped off our satisfaction. We managed to explore the towns, take several hikes and enjoy quiet times reading. The beds were very comfortable. The lodge is such a lovely design and the property is indeed right on the water. Even the rains felt magical and relaxing. We had only planned to land here because we were crossing WI looking at colleges for our daughter. But we so loved the lodge and the location (finding gallery's in the middle of no where was also fun) that we all said we'd like to come back to Door County and stay in Killasonna Lodge."

"My family stayed at this property for a week in June. The weather cooperated most days, but despite some rainy days the house more than made up for it in terms of comfort and activities for our family. There were 4 adults and two children ages 8 and 10. The dock and depth of the lake make it perfect for swimming. The water is shallow and clear so the kids were more than happy to jump in (and again we didn't have perfect weather for it). The property has a canoe that was easy to use to go paddling around the lake and for fishing. My son caught several good size bass and a crappie.
The house design is just right for anyone looking for space when you want to retire to your room or meet for time together in the great room. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked with anything you could possibly need during your stay.
The owners were easily reachable and extremely helpful whenever we called. The house has a notebook with clear instructions on how to use all of the amenities. You are a stone's throw from Bailey's Harbor and Lake Michigan, but also secluded enough on the property to feel like you are a world away. We loved the location of the property being a quick drive to any of the places we wanted to visit, such as The Farm, Fish Creek, and Egg Harbor.
As I said, we had a few rainy days, but we were totally entertained by the board games and toys in the house. It really is perfect for families. We had my father who is over 60, my brother who is in his thirties, and again my two boys who had a blast playing with all of the toys in the house. When they wanted downtime there is wifi for their electronics and satellite TV.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone for any kind of vacation...there are plenty of supplies for outdoor enthusiasts (bikes, canoe, paddle boats etc)...family vacations, girl's weekends...just a great property with a great layout and location. We couldn't be happier!"

"We spent four wonderful days here, and were so sad to leave! This is a unique, lovingly maintained property with tremendous character. The location is perfect - it's close to "town" in Ellison Bay, yet you feel a million miles away. It's large enough to host a small family reunion (as we did), with a kitchen that begs for collaborative cooking. The firepit is the perfect spot for stargazing, and we had a lot of fun playing badminton. And the WiFi works just fine :). We loved our time at Whytefyshe, and hope to return one day."

"The "stuga" was perfect and Barbo was a wonderful hostess! After a long day on the road we arrived to find lights on, hot apple cider on the stove and a plate of ginger cookies waiting for us. The cottage was just right for the four of us (adults) not lacking in any way. The sunsets over the water were beautiful and the fire pit was the perfect place to end the day. Sure hope to get back to Door County and the "stuga""
