  • Eagle View Review

"My group of 5 (all in mid 20's) stayed at Eagle View for a high school friend reunion of sorts. We had an amazing time! The home was an excellent value and so nice! Very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The room that I stayed in had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! It was a short drive to downtown Sturgeon Bay and other Door County sites. I would definitely recommend! We will be coming back for sure."

  • WINTER WEEKEND GETAWAY

"There were eight or nine friends that got together, for a long weekend,to help break up this very long, cold winter..The place was Great ! Very clean,Big yet cozy (three fireplaces) The beds were very nice..even the fold out couch, was comfortable (flex-steel) Although we were all together, there was plenty of room, for privacy, with two separate living areas, both with fireplaces..and two separate dining areas..or "gaming" table areas. Also close to towns, winery's,and just a good place, for gathering.. We really had a great time, and I would like to Thank You Carol, for all your prompt responses to emails, for the privacy, and just for sharing, your very nice Door County Home with us. • Stayed for a month, loved it!

"I had a pleasure of staying the whole month of March 2014. Pictures doesn't really do this place justice, its much bigger and nicer than it looks. All the arrangements prior to renting was solved easily over email. Quick response, very helpful, professional and delivered everything as promised. The condo itself was very well furnished in a style best described as "Grandparents House". Carpet floor, books on every wall, a mix of antique and modern decoration giving the condo a very homelike feel. Big TV in the living room, but more importantly very fast WiFi. I used the fireplace a few times which was great, but even in this chilly March the condo stayed nice and warm. The living room outlooks the forest in the back, and wildlife is plenty. Since its tucked into the woods like that, its very private and quiet. Kitchen had every kind of appliance I could need for cooking, so no complaints there. And it overlooks the living room with its open solution something I really liked. Dining table for 6. Bedrooms were plush, to put it lightly. Super comfy beds, very spacious and decorated like the rest of the condo. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Tub\shower upstairs and a big shower downstairs. Thank you for a great stay, I hope to come again!"

Door County Travel Tips

Is a Vacation Knocking? Get to Door County

The awe-inspiring beauty of Door County in Wisconsin will have you wanting more year after year. More than 300 miles of breathtaking shoreline will greet you along with boasting harbors, quiet coves, sandy beaches, and plenty of outdoor fun. With a dozen county parks, five state parks, and 10 lighthouses, it is no wonder that Door County resorts are some of the most popular vacation destinations in the area.

Check the Weather at the Door

Door County has a climate all its own. Because the region is a narrow peninsula and surrounded by the water of Lake Michigan, the lake moderates the temperatures throughout the year. It can make the winters quite cold but generally mild and the summers quite cool and less humid. This means that even in the gentlest of seasons, it is wise to have a sweater or warmer clothing at night. But no matter what the weather is like, Door County is a great place for both outdoor and indoor fun! Just remember to pack an umbrella, some warm clothes, and your bathing suit--depending on the time of year, of course!

Getting to Door County Lodging

There are plenty of ways in and out of Door County which is terrific since it is a highly coveted vacation destination. Many visitors enjoy driving in as the routes are quite scenic. The major highways leading in and out of Door County are I-94, I-43, Highway 57, Highway 310, and Highway 42. Just remember to drive carefully, especially in the winter months. Additionally, the speed limits are lower in Door County and the local law enforcement and state troopers are always on the lookout for speeders. You do not want to ruin your vacation with a speeding ticket. The best airport is Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay.

How to Explore Door County

Nature will definitely be calling your name when you stay in Door County vacation rentals. You will jump at the chance to go out sailing, cruising, fishing, boating, hiking, or biking; you can also just relax on the beaches. The wealth of water-based recreation in Door County happens right on Green Bay and Lake Michigan. If you want to get a look at the surrounding area, take a day trip to Washington Island. If golf is your game, some of the most scenic courses are right there! For those looking for a little culture, there is no shortage of artist galleries, music and performing arts, and museums throughout the area.

Fun Family Adventure

Just minutes away from any Door County lodging, you will find plenty of family fun and adventure. If hiking is not for everyone in your family, think about renting bikes, mopeds, scooters, or even a segway to explore the state park trails. If you would like a sky-high adventure, take an airplane ride over Door County. You are sure to see some sights that you have never seen before! For those of you that love the water, sail the bays and explore the islands, lighthouses, and many bluffs. Horseback riding, a day at the beach, trolley tours, farm tours, and county parks are other ideas of how to spend your days. Because Door County has such a diverse list to offer, everyone in your family is sure to find something to enjoy.

A Way to Escape it All

If outdoor adventure is not your cup of tea, there are ways to escape it all in Door County. There is plenty of shopping in the area's quaint little towns as well as plenty of galleries and museums. If pampering is something that will really float your boat, there are some excellent spas and salons that will melt your cares away. After a day of rest and relaxation, dine at one of the unique and award-winning restaurants or attend a traditional Door County Fish Boil. With all these options, it seems obvious why Door County has been named one of the top 10 vacation spots in North America.
