  • Really fun birthday week!

"I rented the cabin for the week of my 50th birthday and invited 7 friends to join me for the week. We had a wonderful time and absolutely perfect weather (high's in the mid-70's and low's in the 50's). We immediately turned the A/C off when we arrived and opened the windows and did not turn it back on until we were ready to leave on the 9th. We cooked in almost every night. The kitchen was very well supplied with plates, cooking utensils, and such - even though some of my more foodie friends brought their own knives, skillets, etc. We had so many cooking tools and food we had trouble finding a place to put it all - which is no fault to the cabin. The kitchen would have needed to be a commercial size one to accommodate all the food and wine people brought and bought. The beds were very comfortable and there were more than ample towels and blankets. Having the washer & dryer on premises was a great bonus as some people with allergies did find they needed to wash the sheets before they could sleep on them from the fabric softener that had been used. Again, not a problem and very convenient that they could deal with the issues on-site. We spent every morning drinking coffee on the deck and wine on the deck every evening before and after dinner. We built a campfire two nights and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. Plus, the weather was so great we ate two dinners on the picnic table by the fire. Our only critique of the deck was that for a cabin that sleeps 8 it would have been nice to have 8 Adirondack chairs so everyone could be comfortable when we were sitting around on the deck chatting. The location of the cabin in Door County makes it very convenient to many of the attractions in the area and a good base camp. Lastly, in an ideal world the two bathrooms would arranged differently as one is part of the master suite in the loft and not really accessible to the guests using the other three bedrooms. Makes for a bit of an unbalanced utilization of resources when everyone is trying to get ready of a morning or ready for bed at night."

  • Fun place for a family vacation

"We rented this home for a family fishing vacation, with our adult children, complete with two families' worth of dogs. When we first arrived, we weren't sure what to expect, but don't let the outside fool you. It's a large home, upstairs over what is I believe a cheese factory, and it is very well-done. Four bedrooms, a large living room and dining room, very nice deck. Lots of room for all of us, and a beautiful yard with some wilderness for the dogs to explore. A nice bonus was Renard's cheese shop just across the yard with lots of goodies to enjoy there or to take home. They even make breakfasts and lunches on your way to your next adventure. It was close to the highway, easy to get to the guys' fishing dock and the girls' shopping as well as some very nice restaurants. Would recommend this lovely and spacious home."

"This lake home was much more than we expected - it was great! Very roomy and well equipped with everything we could have imagined. Very clean with well kept. We loved the yard with the fire pit...everything was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this property to anyone and will keep it in mind if we are ever in the area again. Thank you so much. • Beautiful views of Lake Michigan

"Clay Banks retreat is a lovely home on a nice, quiet road. The house is clean and comfortable, with nice fluffy towels in the bathrooms and a well-stocked kitchen. The home and yard are even nicer in person than the photos. The yard is spacious and the yard games, including basketball, were a lot of fun. The hot tub with the built-in stereo was the best! Would have loved to have had the use of the washer and dryer. We had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay."
