  • Pound WI, Shawano WI, and Somers CT.

"Our family of 6 adults and 1 child had a very roomy and clean home.Water is extremely clear, fishing was very good. Even had some to freeze and bring home. We enjoyed snorkeling, tubing, waterskiing, evening campfires (firewood is not provided like advertised) If your not turned off by a lot of steps,(47) to get to the water I would definitely recommend this beautiful rental. Nice dock to accommodate our pontoon and fishing boat and there is also a paddle boat there to use. Lots of handy items we did not expect also. Place does need to provide a better large frying pan though. And disposing of garbage can be a challenge given the times the dump station is open. Anyway, we had a fantastic time there!"

  • What fun!

"This was our first experience at renting privately owned property for a family vacation and we couldn't have been happier. First off, the rental is absolutley perfect for families, particularly large families. It is nice, but so fancy that you feel like you can't enjoy yourselves. Oh, and what a peaceful area and lake! We already miss our sunrises and sunsets on the dock and the smiles on the faces of our kids in the boat paddling around. Secondly, it is great that it is very private and secluded, but if you need things, the Super V is a very nice larger grocery store 5 minutes away and laundry mat close by the store as well. We have pizza the one night we weren't cooking out and found Golden Eagle pizza to be pretty tastey. The candy store in town is fantastic not to mention a few other places to browse, but we definitely liked the whole no-commercialism aspect of this area. We drove to Antigo for a movie one evening, but that was it. We mostly just wanted to stay out at the cottage and enjoy the woods and fantastic views of wildlife right there on the property. We highly recommend this for any family vacation!"

  • A perfect honeymoon retreat!

"My husband and I stumbled upon this listing and ultimately decided to spend our honeymoon here. The cabin was perfectly maintained/clean and the lake was beautiful and trainquil! The owner was immediately responsive to all of our inquiries and questions and even surprised us with a bottle of champagne when we arrived. Although the cabin was perfect for romance, with the amenities provided, it would also be perfect for kids of all ages. It has been a year since we stayed, and we both still talk about how fortunate we were to have found this place!"

  • Couple's Getaway

"My husband and I spent a week in this wonderful cottage at the end of July/beginning of August! So sweet! The ceiling was vaulted and of golden knotty pine. All the furnishings were quality, tasteful and homey. We cooked like crazy in the kitchen, watched movies in the living room, enjoyed the beautiful view on the deck from the recliner chairs that we brought along with us. We also enjoyed the fire pit a couple of times...... the moon was so bright and lit up all the trees around us. We went out in our boat that we brought along numerous times, enjoying the lake that this cottage looks out apon. It was no problem to tie it up onto the dock- easy access for morning fishing expeditions and outings. A couple of small things that weren't our favorite...... the sleep number bed in the master bedroom did not work properly- the display on the controller was broken. And for those of you who like to fish, we had an extremely tough time doing so on this specific lake, Chain Lake. It was beautiful and on the other side there were lake homes to look at, but the fish were practically nonexistant! When you visit, you will want to remember that garbage drop off is in the village and that there are specific times for dropoff. We loved our stay and have many happy memories and pictures. We enjoyed our local surroundings and also did the waterfall tour of several counties around Lakewood. We did whitewater rafting on the Peshtigo River and visitied the casino which was only 10 minutes away. We would definitely LOVE to come back to this place!"
