"This is a very nice home in the Northwoods. The house is very well furnished and thoughtfully appointed. The kitchen has everything you need. The owners have done a nice job of decorating in the Northwoods style with a lot of attention to detail. We stayed in this home for two weeks and absolutely loved our stay. The photo's are accurate and the place is better in person. The landscaping to the lake is very nice with lighting at night. The lake is a beautiful sandy bottom and shallow to the pier. We would definitely stay here again – a five star home!"

"We had a great week at the Island Lake property for our vacation in August. Our group included 6 adults and we had plenty of room in the main house. The setting was secluded and private as advertised. The fishing was a lot of fun and we treated ourselves to a fish dinner courtesy of a great catch. So grateful that this place is pet-friendly as our labradors had a wonderful week as well. Beautiful sunrises, great star gazing, and very little traffic on the lake. Great for kayaking, canoeing, paddle board and of course swimming. It's also a convenient trip to town in Wausaukee for whatever you might need, and some fun shopping in Crivitz. Close to the Peshtigo as well. We hope to return next summer."

"A long overdue getaway. Very peaceful and we were glad we were the only renters this particular weekend as the property hosts several cabins and a house so the common areas are "shared". I admit we were happy to be alone for the majority of the time. Lovely little beach just steps from our cabin with nice picnic tables and gorgeous sunsets. We could easily load the kayaks from the sandy beach. The brick outdoor fireplace/grill is showing significant signs of wear but we made it work for a little campfire and it did just fine for smores and roasting hot dogs. We also brought our own small grill which is a good idea if you want more reliable grilling just outside your cabin. The cabin is clean and no frills bordering on a little tired. But our bed was comfy so no complaints on that. I think these cabins could be really charming with just a little effort and modest improvements like comfier chairs and things like that. The weather was cool so we used the little furnace and it worked just fine. The surrounding area is the best with truly wonderful bike trails, lakes, parks, hiking, kayaking, restaurants and so forth. No TV or radio - so bring a radio if you want music. We did and enjoyed it. We were able to get a cell signal but inconsistent data feed - which was ok. This wasn't an issue for us."

"For those who like the quiet side, this part of Door County is perfect, and this cottage met our needs completely. Quiet should NOT be interpreted as dull, however.
*Great location - meaning a 5 minute walk to the ferry dock for the trip to Washington Island. Also, an easy drive to nearby state park and bluffs overlooks. Other attractions, such as Cana Island Lighthouse, an easy drive. The Maritime Museum just down the road from the cottage is a real treasure; take time to talk to the most knowledgeable young man who was there at the time we visited. Having stopped the day before at the maritime museum in Manitowoc, we were dubious about a small museum. But we were very wrong.
*Everything we needed to prepare meals. Try the fish from the market by the ferry dock!
*With such scenery and such sunsets, never noticed the lack of TV! However, we did have a portable radio and enjoyed Wisconsin Public Radio!
*Owner was quite solicitous, easy to work with when we made last minute plans, and very cordial. We felt completely at home and relaxed.
*We would definitely return; would love to see this country in the autumn especially and can imagine that winter is spectacular.
*Kayakers might appreciate the launches around. Also a good place for biking or hiking.
We have used VRBO previously and have been pleased. This cottage continues that tradition!
Thanks for a great visit."
