"Perfect setting for a quiet family getaway for Thanksgiving. We loved exploring the lake shore and playing in the snow with the kids before returning to relax by a roaring fire.
The house is beautiful, even nicer than we expected !
Janet was great, very helpful and responsive we are looking forward to a return visit soon 😊"

"We loved our four nights at the Lakeside Cabin! The owners are so very nice and hospitable and have thought of everything. They even allowed us to use their canoe and inflatables for swimming the entire week. If you are looking for peace and quiet than this is the place. We never shared the lake with anyone the entire week (although there are other cottages we always felt like we were the only ones there). The owners live in town, but also own the cabin right next door for their personal use. Their cabin is close, but they were only there for a couple hours in the evening, and were very respectful of our privacy and vacation.
This is a classic "up north" Wisconsin cabin. Nothing fancy, but very well maintained and clean.
The view of the lake from the screen porch is wonderful for breakfast in the morning and playing games in the afternoon. The pier is good sized and just a perfect spot for a relaxing book, a refreshing swim, or just sitting and enjoying the view.
The deck is a perfect spot for eating your evening meal while over looking the lake (you are practically on top of the water).
The fire pit is a great way to end a perfect day. We even cooked a couple steaks over the open fire as well. There is a gas grill provided, but you can't beat that taste of cooking over a camp fire (cooking grates are right behind the pit).
As I write this review I wish we were back again. Just what we needed.
When you visit say hi to Kiva and Nellie for us!"

Perfect "feels like home" cottage nestled next to the lake
"Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Jacksonport cottage in October. The cottage was very clean, quite comfortable, and quiet! The gorgeous view of Lake Michigan from the family room picture window was priceless! Venturing outdoors with a cup of coffee and ample adirondack seating to choose from, watching the sunrise from the lake's horizon was the perfect way to start the day. Walking along the shore greeting a few walkers and friendly dogs while enjoying the fresh air and lapping sounds of the lake, was just another great way to begin the day.
Only a 15-minute drive to Sister Bay, where we were lucky to witness a breathtaking subdued rainbow streaked sunset and also visited the goats on the roof of Al Johnson's. We took a detour off the regular route to Ephraim and found a roadside wagon loaded with a variety of pumpkins and gourds and the kids were thrilled. All-you-can eat soup lunch at the Summer Kitchen was delicious and then we headed to Red Putter for mini-golf, which was very reasonable for the entire family and of course fun! Also, enjoyed an afternoon of leisurely driving through Door County while stopping for the occasional outdoor markets and to take pictures of the beautiful fall foliage.
The cottage felt like home, beds were comfy, bathroom updated and clean, plenty of games to play with family in the evening, and a variety of birds to view out back with the occasional crafty squirrels stealing seeds. We would love to visit the cottage again in the future!"
