  • Ladies Weekend - wine tasting and adventures

"We rented this cottage for a ladies weekend away. It was fully furnished with absolutely everything we needed for every room and every activity. It is centrally located, just a short drive from the Hands On Art barn as well as the Washington Island ferry. It is within walking distance to Good Eggs (the best breakfast wraps EVER), and downtown Ephraim. The cottage is well-maintained and modern. It was clear to us that the owner cares about her property and about her customers."

  • Family vacation spot for large families

"My family stayed here in July and we had a large group – over 20 people (ages 2 to 83). The lodge is very well kept. With the three levels there was so much living space that we never felt cramped or uncomfortable which was nice for the days that it rained. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking gear to do just about anything you need. It was also very nice to have enough table space for the entire family to eat dinner together every night. Really liked the surround sound to be able to play music during the day. The two decks were great for just relaxing or catching some sun. The screened in porch was a nice room to be able to have to enjoy the outside even in the rain. The gas grill is good sized and worked well for our barbeque dinner. The bedrooms and bathrooms are more than adequate to have anyone use them at any time – we never ran out of hot water. The grounds are well maintained and there is so much open space. We were able to fish right off the edge of the lake in front of the lodge and the pier – caught northern pike and bass. The lake was pretty quiet - not a lot of tourists or even locals with speed boats. Golf course is close, too. Plenty of wood for the indoor fireplace and the fire pit. Everyone took pictures of the sunsets – absolutely beautiful. The garage was very clean and a great spot for extra storage – kids’ toys, coolers, etc. The Wi-Fi and wireless are not the strongest connections, but were able to use phones and devices. For those large families looking for great accommodations, lots of space, great outdoors you really can’t miss with this lodge. We’ve been getting together every 3 years and we’ve talked about making it 2 years and coming back here."

  • The Quarry House: A Perfect Destination

"My wife and I had shipped our son and daughter off to college and needed someplace to escape to in order to recharge our batteries. Our golden retriever asked to make the trip as well. Fortunately, I stumbled upon the perfect location to enjoy some rest and relaxation. The Quarry House was the right destination. Mary and Mitch were wonderful hosts, inviting us into their home, sharing stories, answering questions and graciously inviting us for crackers, cheese and wine one evening under Mitch's handcrafted pergola. Their place is spectacular, off the beaten path yet close enough to everything and every place that we wished to visit. We spent days hiking and biking the paths of Newport State Park and Peninsula State Park and sitting in the sunshine along Lake Michigan and reading a good book. The Carriage House accommodations were superb - clean, spacious and comfortable (with a whirlpool tub to soak aching muscles at the end of the day). Every amenity that we might have needed was available. I enjoyed sitting in the shade under the pergola and reading as the chickadees, nuthatches, blue jays, red bellied woodpeckers, Downy & Hairy woodpeckers and Kingfishers kept me company. It was the perfect spot for us with two wonderful hosts."

  • Fall Family Get Away

"The Cozy Cabin was absolutely perfect for our annual fall trip to Door County. The location is perfect being close to Peninsula Park, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Fish Creek, etc. For those that want to relax and not go far, the beautiful woods and colorful trees are right outside every window. The owners used the space extremely well and thought of everything. The cabin was spotless with all the amenities you need. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. i would highly recommend this cabin."
