"This Condo is very convenient. Walking distance to downtown. Very helpful if guest want to split up and only have one car. Nicely appointed. Everything you need. Boat doc a plus. Next to bar but noise not a problem. Bar gets quite around 10:30-11. Also bonus if you want to stumble home. I would recommend. A++++"

  • Perfect for a family vacation

"This is a perfect place for a family to take their vacation. The cabin is very spacious with plenty of room and very clean. Great view of the lake and it was nice being on a quiet bay. Big Crawling Stone Lake (& the chain of 10 lakes) is awesome and very crystal clear lakes, fishing was okay caught a lot of fish unfortunately to small to keep. Loved the fact of having a private pier that our 18' boat fit nicely at. There are nice touches everywhere, like family games, books to read and a fire pit. Our daughters enjoyed the paddle boat and wanted to take the canoe out but we just ran out of time. There is plenty of room for parking and parking your boat trailer. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone. We look forward to hopefully taking another vacation here."

  • Fishing Weekend

"Nice location if you are looking to spend your time on Lake Tomahawk and the Minocqua Chain. Public boat launch is right around the corner and the unit comes with a dock space to park your boat. Had an enjoyable stay and the place had everything we needed and more."

  • Ski weekend in the frozen north

"Overall, we were very happy with the house. We were up for a couple of nights of socializing and good company, and a day skiing at Minocqua Winter Park, and the whole experience was great. The location is beautiful, and very convenient to town. If we had any complaints (and they're minor), it's that the bedrooms tended to be very warm if the living room was comfortable (turn down the thermostat before bed), and that there were no hand towels in the bathrooms. When they said "no towels", I guess that's what they meant... Nevertheless, we were incredibly happy with the house, and the whole experience. Highly recommend."

Minocqua Travel Tips

Minocqua Vacation Rentals in the Pines

Although another state lays claim to having thousands of lakes, Wisconsin is not far behind. Choosing to relax in Minocqua vacation rentals could find you on Blue Lake, Lake Catherine, Shishebogama Lake or private Mercer Lake. These VRBO homes feature the amenities that you would find in your own home, probably because they are privately owned homes. The owners open up their doors to you by offering spacious living areas, plush beds, fully equipped kitchens and private docks or wrap-around porches where you can enjoy the outdoor life. Imagine having a leisurely breakfast on your deck watching the birds on the water or a deer munching on the greenery. This idyllic setting could be yours when you choose a wonderful vacation rental in Minocqua.

Finding Your way to Minocqua Cabins

There are three airports that can get you to Minocqua, Wisconsin. Because none of them are particularly close, you will need to rent a car or plan to drive on your vacation. If you choose to fly into Milwaukee or Madison, you want to take I-94 and then go north on I-39. When I-39 ends, you will continue on Highway 51 to Minocqua which lies in the northeast quadrant of Wisconsin. The autumn colors make the drive spectacular and there are still plenty of things to do at that time of year.

Entertainment at Minocqua Lodging

If you are lucky enough to select a Minocqua house on a lake, you could find yourself swimming, boating, fishing or lounging in a hammock on the deck. This is by no means the only form of entertainment that is available to guests of Minocqua lodging. In the wintertime, guests can relax by the fire in their vacation house after a day of cross country skiing or snowmobiling at nearby Minocqua Winter Park. They offer more than 75 miles of groomed trails just perfect for any cross country ski adventure. You can fix a lunch for the family at your Minocqua cabins and eat out on the trail.

Looking for a little wildlife adventure on your vacation? Then direct your vehicle to Wildwood Wildlife Park and Nature Center. This 25-acre park has over 700 birds, mammals, and reptiles for the visitors to enjoy. For those brave enough to try it, they can pet a porcupine, skunk, woodchuck, tortoise and other animals. Nature programs are offered on a daily basis as are boat rides, a safari train ride, and fishing for trout. Catch your dinner then bring it back to your vacation home’s BBQ grill. Food is available at the park if you do not want to pack a picnic.

Evening entertainment is just about 10 miles away at the Northern Lights Playhouse. There are performances nightly from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September of everything from Broadway musicals to comedy reviews. If you are interested in visiting more than one state on your vacation, your family could take a side trip into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You can dip your toes into Lake Superior from Wisconsin or Michigan.

Sweet Treats and Dining Options Near Minocqua Lake Houses

North woods dining is hearty fare that relies on home0cooked comfort foods that we all love. Whether you want a quiet casual restaurant such as Albee’s Yacht Club Bar & Grill with great views of Lake Minocqua or fast food like Arby’s so you can get back to playing, you can have it. Have a sweet tooth? Check out the enticing fresh baked goods at Ella’s Family Restaurant or the gourmet popcorn you can enjoy before a roaring fire or backyard fire pit. Flavors like melted cheddar cheese, kettle corn, caramel corn or the spicier jalapeno popcorn will enhance your experience at your Minocqua lake home rental. Cooking at your vacation home is wonderful but you would not want to miss out on some of the region’s best cuisine. Ask your VRBO owner for some of their favorite dining establishments.
