"We could not have had a better experience at Sweetbriar. We have four newly married children and they loved having their own space that felt like a romantic retreat, with luxurious baths and seating areas by their own fireplaces. Four poster beds, wingback chairs, and tastefully decorated suites felt like a special retreat. Their were several gathering spaces in the home--a sun porch area for doing puzzles and playing games, or just rocking in the wicker rockers enjoying morning coffee... a family room with a fireplace and wine bar, and a living room with a large television where we all gathered to watch the Cub's game! We had 16 of us gathered around the dining room table and the KITCHEN!! The kitchen was perfect for FIVE of us cooking at the same time--true perfection!
We have been doing this family reunion in Door County for over 60 years and we hope to make Sweetbriar our 'home' during our fall celebration.
Would highly recommend!"

"Truly enjoyed my stay at SunFlower cottage! I liked the clean, well maintained cottage and appreciated the well stocked kitchen dinnerware/utensils. Kangaroo Lake is 1100 acres, clean & quiet in June & loved using your kayak, kept right on property, thanks. Will visit again!!"

"We loved our four nights at the Lakeside Cabin! The owners are so very nice and hospitable and have thought of everything. They even allowed us to use their canoe and inflatables for swimming the entire week. If you are looking for peace and quiet than this is the place. We never shared the lake with anyone the entire week (although there are other cottages we always felt like we were the only ones there). The owners live in town, but also own the cabin right next door for their personal use. Their cabin is close, but they were only there for a couple hours in the evening, and were very respectful of our privacy and vacation.
This is a classic "up north" Wisconsin cabin. Nothing fancy, but very well maintained and clean.
The view of the lake from the screen porch is wonderful for breakfast in the morning and playing games in the afternoon. The pier is good sized and just a perfect spot for a relaxing book, a refreshing swim, or just sitting and enjoying the view.
The deck is a perfect spot for eating your evening meal while over looking the lake (you are practically on top of the water).
The fire pit is a great way to end a perfect day. We even cooked a couple steaks over the open fire as well. There is a gas grill provided, but you can't beat that taste of cooking over a camp fire (cooking grates are right behind the pit).
As I write this review I wish we were back again. Just what we needed.
When you visit say hi to Kiva and Nellie for us!"

"We brought our 2 small children and our dog up to Stony Point. We also invited both sets of parents, so we had a total of 6 adults and 2 children. Stony Point was plenty big to accommodate a group this size. The house was far nicer than what I was used to for the North Woods. The kitchen appears to have been updated recently, and the main level is open and cozy, which was nice for meals and having everyone together. But, for when you need your space or some quiet time, both levels have large, comfy living areas. It was also very nice to have a full bathroom on each level. Additionally, there is a washer/dryer available to use, which is convenient. Although you can see neighbors on both sides, the property still felt plenty private and secluded to me.
The only thing preventing me from giving the 5 star "excellent" rating is the waterfront area. We had expected the area on the south side of the pier to be sandy, but it was a little rocky. I think its only an issue if you plan to have little kids walking in the water. If you do, I would highly recommend water shoes. Also, because the property is on the west side of the lake and is surrounded by tall trees, it makes it difficult to get any sun. I had to float off the pier a little bit to catch some rays, but that was fine. Additionally, the pictures show the pier to be an "L" shape with a bench, but when we were there, it was a straight aluminum pier with no bench.
Overall, I would recommend Stony Point for families or adults just looking to get away. The house is nice, and the lake is beautiful. Our dog had a blast swimming in the lake and my kids and I caught bass, perch, and panfish off the pier. It was a great family vacation -"
