"Excellent accommodations for our first fishing trip on Big St. Germain Lake. Boat launch is just a 5 minute drive away. Dock provided with the home was a valuable convenience. The home was very clean and had plenty of room to relax and get comfortable after a long day on the water. We enjoyed the deck and the view of the lake it provided as well as the opportunity to watch several deer that were frequent visitors. We plan to stay at AJ's Pine Crest Hideaway on future trips and would recommend your home to others."

"This cabin was clean and neat as a pin when we arrived and the owner Bob was there to greet us. He gave us a quick "cook's tour" and left us alone to enjoy our week's stay. It is right next to the water and has a nice new dock with a seat where you can see about half of the lake. Inside there are three decent bedrooms and two baths which made it much more convenient to get up and get going. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a fairly new grill on the deck. As another guest mentioned this is not really a swimming lake because it is a bit weedy but there are numerous lakes nearby. We caught several fish there including 2 muskies, one that probably went 6 to 7 pounds. We practice catch and release so they are both probably still there. Panfish were limited probably due to the pike and musky population as well as the eagles and osprey we saw catch fish. We had a blast going to the St. Germaine flea market, the Minocqua zoo, and kayaking on the Wisconsin river.
Also, there are many excellent restaurants in the area that made dining a daily agonizing decision. Do we cook or let someone cook for us? We were not disappointed no matter what we decided. My wife and I liked this so much we are considering buying a lakefront home ourselves. We came here all the way from California and couldn't have been happier with our stay at this great home (kind of a cross between a home/cottage/cabin) on a great Wisconsin lake in the heart of northern Wisconsin's playground. The only bad thing was we had to eventually go home."

"This trip was our first real "Family Vacation" and I will tell you that Deer Ridge helped make this trip a life lasting memory! From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. It was easy to get to the cabin with the directions provided and parking was not a problem. The area felt very secure and was at ease letting the kids (5 and 8) ride their bikes around the property. I immediately noticed how well the cabin and grounds were maintained. Everything was kept nice and orderly. The inside of the cabin was spotless. From the kitchen to the bathroom, everything was very clean. We did plan our trip at the end of summer but the weather was hot and humid. The nights did cool down a bit but without A/C it was a touch stuffy inside. Oh, and be sure to take your garbage to the dumpster every night or you will be aroused out of bed by a gang of raccoons! LOL!!! My mistake!!!
The outdoor activities were amazing!!! The row boat was great to just get out on the lake and relax with the kids as my wife sat on the dock reading her book. The fishing from the pier was great. We caught some keeper size fish but we did toss them back for others to catch. The nightly fires down by the lake were great. We sat down there and just let the time pass. The kids and I laid on the pier each night and watched the blanket of stars overhead with the occasional satellite passing over.
The attractions around the cabin were great. There are many restaurants and bars only minutes from the cabin as well as gas stations and the grocery store that we visited every day! Minocqua and Eagle River are just a short drive from the cabin which added a bit more variety to our stay. Both of those towns are fantastic and have lots to offer but it was nice to get back to the cabin after a day of tourist stuff and leave the hustle and bustle behind.
All in all, this trip was perfect! The cabin was awesome and the Northwoods were spectacular! I would recommend this cabin to anyone!"
