  • A Great Trip With Family!

"This trip was our first real "Family Vacation" and I will tell you that Deer Ridge helped make this trip a life lasting memory! From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. It was easy to get to the cabin with the directions provided and parking was not a problem. The area felt very secure and was at ease letting the kids (5 and 8) ride their bikes around the property. I immediately noticed how well the cabin and grounds were maintained. Everything was kept nice and orderly. The inside of the cabin was spotless. From the kitchen to the bathroom, everything was very clean. We did plan our trip at the end of summer but the weather was hot and humid. The nights did cool down a bit but without A/C it was a touch stuffy inside. Oh, and be sure to take your garbage to the dumpster every night or you will be aroused out of bed by a gang of raccoons! LOL!!! My mistake!!! The outdoor activities were amazing!!! The row boat was great to just get out on the lake and relax with the kids as my wife sat on the dock reading her book. The fishing from the pier was great. We caught some keeper size fish but we did toss them back for others to catch. The nightly fires down by the lake were great. We sat down there and just let the time pass. The kids and I laid on the pier each night and watched the blanket of stars overhead with the occasional satellite passing over. The attractions around the cabin were great. There are many restaurants and bars only minutes from the cabin as well as gas stations and the grocery store that we visited every day! Minocqua and Eagle River are just a short drive from the cabin which added a bit more variety to our stay. Both of those towns are fantastic and have lots to offer but it was nice to get back to the cabin after a day of tourist stuff and leave the hustle and bustle behind. All in all, this trip was perfect! The cabin was awesome and the Northwoods were spectacular! I would recommend this cabin to anyone!"

  • Perfect "Up North" retreat

"This is exactly what a cabin "up north" should be! Peaceful and private on a 500" stretch of shoreline, extremely well-maintained, comfortable and cosy - plus a great HD TV, wireless internet and a land-line phone - make this property one of the most comfortable ones you could find - a great lake home with a "woodsy" feel to it. A brand new mattress provided the best nights' sleep in years. The kitchen was well stocked and as my husband said, "the knives were good and sharp"! We always had hot water, there were plenty of towels, heat or air conditioning was available and we had comfortable furniture to curl up in. Having Steve and Sharon, the caretakers, available during one's stay is certainly a plus and Bob, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and only a phone call away. From the loons calling to each other across the lake to the eagles soaring across the front of the cabin, you'll always be aware that you are, indeed, in God's country. We certainly highly recommend this property and hope to return again next year."

  • Beautiful place!

"This property was just what my family and I were looking for. The place was beautiful and enjoyable. We stayed for a whole week and didn't want to leave. This house made us feel like home, everything we needed was there. Not a day past were we felt bored. The house is in expellant condition, and has great history behind it. The place does look even more beautiful in person. The lake it self was great also. We caught 4 pikes and 1 bass. Even if you fish from the dock you might catch something nice. The water is clear and clean and the girls went swimming on the hot days. We did a lot of sightseeing. There are many eagles nests near the house and you will see many of them flying and sitting right near the house. The owners Jack and Linda were very helpful through out the visit. They answered all the questions and recommended awesome places to see. This property was amazing and BEAUTIFUL. Defiantly coming back again!"

  • Great family vacation spot!

"We had a fantastic week at Hidden Pines! The accommodations were perfect for our two families of four. The kids loved the water, mini-golfing, horseback riding, and go-carting. Lots of great hiking. The lake was quiet and we rented a power boat from St. Germain Sport and Marine for tubing. We also used the canoe, row boat, and paddle boat from the cabin. Tons of great wildlife too!"
