  • Great Place!

"Thanks for having such a great place! Our weekend was wonderful. I'm sure you will see me & my family again next year. Our family has been coming to star lake for 60 years and this is our new favorite place. See you in 2013."

  • Fantastic stay at Camp Edna

"We had a fantastic stay at Camp Edna. The house has everything you need to be comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with pro-grade appliances and utensils, and every room is immersively themed as unmistakably Northwoods. We made fabulous dinners most nights, but we did make it to Stillwaters for their fish fry, which was a lot of fun. Boat rides, fishing, swimming, heading into nearby towns and Minocqua for a day made our vacation fly by. About the lake: Star Lake is stunningly beautiful and pristine, and since it’s on something like 90% state-owned land, the majority of the lake is lined thickly with towering pines, which really highlights its remoteness. We found that the “vibe” of the lake strikes that delicate balance of seclusion, but with just enough life on the lake to bring about that festive feeling of being on vacation. If you like to fish, you’ll find the lake very unique, with exceptionally dramatic structure; 2 feet one second, 60 feet the next, making for very dynamic fishing. A legendary, published Muskie guide lives across the street from Camp Edna, so that tells you something about what’s in this lake. It is highly recommended that you hire caretaker and fishing guide JJ to take you out on the front-end of your stay to get a lay of the lake. He’s very fun and accommodating as well as being skilled, and makes a great fishing buddy. JJ and Mark (the owner) were accessible and you could tell they really cared to make sure we were having a great time. And we did! We had our dog with us and he loved the experience as well. We will definitely come back. Great experience for our family!"

  • Muskego, WI family

"Our family has stayed at this property for the past several years...and it is by far our favorite rental in the northern woods of Wisconsin! The accommodations are perfect and the lake is spectacular! There is so much to offer in the Sayner/Star Lake area, and this cabin is in the perfect location. It is secluded and private, yet close to great restaurants and shopping. We absolutely love watching the loons, ducks and bald eagles which are right outside the window....and my husband and son have caught some impressive fish on this beautiful lake as well. We hope to come back for years to come!"

  • Loved it.

"I'm really late giving this review. My wife and I rented this cabin for our Anniversary last September. I was having a lot of stress at work and The Little Dipper was a perfect place to unwind. The view at sundown was great. We had eagles and loons around the cabin the entire week. Nothing like loons calling in the evening. The owner went out of her way to make arrangements for use the pontoon boat even though it was rented out for the entire month. I managed to catch a few smallies and walleyes. Of course there was the one that got away, a smallmouth that would have easily tipped the scales over 5 lbs. We also brought our dog and she had a great time hanging out and riding on the pontoon boat. I always appreciate owners that are pet friendly. The Little Dipper is off the beaten path and away from city lights so the night sky there was fabulous. There are a number of other lakes in the area, plenty of hiking trails, and great scenic drives. If you decide to stay make sure to check out Vinchi's for great Italian food. We had a great time!"
