  • Up North Getaway

"Enjoyed 4 nights of Up North Winter at Norther Memories. House was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location was convenient for going into Minocqua, recommend the Minocqua Brewery, and the snowshoeing trails in the Northern Highlands Forest."

  • A hidden gem!

"This cabin truly is one of Door County's hidden gems! There really is no need to leave the property since there is so much to do right outside the door on Kangaroo Lake- swimming, canoeing, biking, cooking out, etc. It is nice that the cabin is centrally located-it was quick and easy to tour the peninsula all week! My family and I have stayed at this cabin three times in total (twice in the fall-gorgeous leaves-and once in the summer). Each time we visit, we are never disappointed! The cabin has ample space for lodging our family of 6. We love to relax and spend time in the spacious screened in patio and gazebo (keeps all the mosquitoes out)! A few of us even enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of nature on the screened in balcony! The land and lake views here can't be beat! We loved canoeing around Kangaroo Lake with the canoe provided by the owners! In the evening, it was nice to relax around the fire and gaze at the stars from the dock. Everything you need is provided at this cabin. From sheets and towels to cooking equipment, we loved not having to worry about bringing supplies. The Brewers fans in our group enjoyed the flat screen TV and DirectTV package-they didn't have to miss a game all week! One of the best parts of staying here is the pet friendly aspect. We were able to bring our dogs and not have to worry about leaving them behind on vacation! The owners of the cabin communicate well and provide all the necessities needed for a nice vacation! The cabin has a binder full of information one might find beneficial during a stay. I can't say enough great things about this cabin...my family and I will surely continue to rent this property in the future!"

  • Breathtaking!

"This paradise is not easy to find but once you come upon it you are awestruck! The cabin is absolutely gorgeous and Kay has not forgotten one single thing. The wrap-around deck looks out onto a peaceful lake just yards away through the pine trees. Spices, cooking oils, marshmallows for the fire pit, a bag of ice in the freezer, magazines, books, new set of pots and pans, horseshoe pit, sand pile including toys for kids, hammocks, tether ball, a pedal boat, a canoe, a fishing boat, pier, fishing poles, and a 2-car attached garage are some of the amenities! I could go on and on. We always rent log cabins in the Smoky Mountains and none have been this complete and up-to-date. The kitchen is outfitted with all new appliances. It even has a radiant convection cooktop range - which we had no idea how to work- but we do now. There is a full size washer and dryer as well. Finally...the cabin is gorgeous logs inside and beautifully decorated. Sparking clean. We are here as I write this, the last week of September and the leaves are spectacular! A black bear even walked across our driveway which made our week complete. I would recommend this very secluded paradise to anyone - unless you're looking for a mall. You won't find it here!"

  • Stay ended far to soon

"Our stay was awesome. Tom greeted us as we arrived and made us all feel welcomed. The cottage was clean, had everything you could need, and was very comfortable. The property was very well maintained. White Lake was beautiful and our teenage kids loved the kayak and peddle boat, which they used to explore around the entire lake. Our dog that was not a fan of water when we first arrived became virtually impossible to keep out of the water by the time we left. The fishing was decent, even though our week was filled with rain and storms. We also loved that we were on the ATV trails...super convenient. We were all sad to see our vacation come to an end. Our week was filled with relaxation on the deck and dock , fishing, swimming, ATVing, and exploring the lake. This little cottage is truly a little piece of Heaven. Thank-you Tom and Shelly for sharing your cottage with my family."

Loons, the short-tailed water birds which are found in this area, can often be seen diving for fish, and blue herons stalk the edges of the lakes. Porcupines and wild turkeys are a delight to discover and birdwatchers will be thrilled at the regular sightings of bald eagles overhead.
