"Very nice river location. Quiet solitude. We spent 2 out of 7 days on the river. This is a beautiful canoe stream. Nice room layout upper level. Great views. We are considering a return next year. 30 minutes to lake superior, 40 minutes to Duluth, 35 minutes to Ashland 40 minutes to Hayward: No other cabins within sight or sound accept across river.
We enjoyed family croquet games, reading & bird-watching on the upper deck. Quiet time on the river deck. Exceptionally helpful, unobtrusive caretaker."

"I couldn't have asked for a nicer fall season stay! Nancy and Ron were so accommodating and gracious and made us feel right at home. I loved the setup of space too, very spacious! The kitchen had everything we needed. Tv, games, etc were offered but my family chose to just relax by the 3 hr campfire on a perfect clear sky night over-looking the water. Beautiful and memorable!"

"The place was sooo much more then what I expected. I have not stayed in a rented house before but this made our trip, I did not realize how comfortable I would be.
I caught ton's of perch, seen lots of wild life including a very large snapping turtle that appeared from under the water deck, loved the paddle boat. The trip started out by finding a 5 leaf clover, wildlife abundance (from the nightly deer, to hundreds of frogs and even a bear (not on the property but on the road exiting the property) and an eagle too.
The house was well equipped with marsh mellow sticks, laundry detergent, grilling equipment with coal and lighter fluid. I had brought several fishing poles but once again there was an abundance of poles already there too. A wonderful abundance of firewood for the fireplace (both inside and out). Kitchen had all amenities including our forgotten coffee filters for my morning coffee. Beds were very comfy. The place was close enough to the town for food supplies. We used the paddle boat daily, and we also brought a paddle board that we used daily. Our phone service (verizon) worked great on the lake (LOL), on the volleyball court, in the upper bedrooms. Other parts of the house we received 1G and mostly texts came through.
Owner was great to work with! I would say I would have liked WI-FI however; I loved the idea that all of my kids were unplugged !!! And we played lots of games that was also supplied. I had a wonderful time being unplugged, enjoying family time, playing games.
The weather fluctuated from very hot days and very rainy days to chilly evenings. I did not use the AC as the breeze off the lake was enough to cool the house down. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting an enjoyable, relaxing place to stay."

"We chose this home for a girls weekend. The home was more than we expected; the pictures don't fully capture how wonderful this property really is. The homeowner was accommodating, easy to work with, and extremely helpful. The home was clean, comfortable, well equipped, and there was plenty of room for the five of us to stretch out and relax. The deck was a favorite place to sit and visit while enjoying the beautiful wooded view. We were well taken care of and hope to return again next year."
