Clean and well appointed
"This cabin was just what I needed! I visit Hayward every year for a friends reunion. We always stay at a resort which is not very nice, but has great views. Well, this year my cabin was overbooked and the resort owner did nothing to accommodate me. I called Ken regarding this cabin and he was so gracious and responsive. The cabin is less expensive than what I would've paid, AND much cleaner and more attractive. The cabin is small, but has everything you need. The bathroom has all new fixtures and floor which makes it feel eapecially clean. The interior is all done in knotty pine and there is a screened in front porch. There is a partial view of the lake through the trees which is still very nice. A short walk down the hill and you're on the lake and large pier with swimming ladders. Ken saved me by meeting me immediately and making my check in so easy. I would've been homeless!"

"The place was sooo much more then what I expected. I have not stayed in a rented house before but this made our trip, I did not realize how comfortable I would be.
I caught ton's of perch, seen lots of wild life including a very large snapping turtle that appeared from under the water deck, loved the paddle boat. The trip started out by finding a 5 leaf clover, wildlife abundance (from the nightly deer, to hundreds of frogs and even a bear (not on the property but on the road exiting the property) and an eagle too.
The house was well equipped with marsh mellow sticks, laundry detergent, grilling equipment with coal and lighter fluid. I had brought several fishing poles but once again there was an abundance of poles already there too. A wonderful abundance of firewood for the fireplace (both inside and out). Kitchen had all amenities including our forgotten coffee filters for my morning coffee. Beds were very comfy. The place was close enough to the town for food supplies. We used the paddle boat daily, and we also brought a paddle board that we used daily. Our phone service (verizon) worked great on the lake (LOL), on the volleyball court, in the upper bedrooms. Other parts of the house we received 1G and mostly texts came through.
Owner was great to work with! I would say I would have liked WI-FI however; I loved the idea that all of my kids were unplugged !!! And we played lots of games that was also supplied. I had a wonderful time being unplugged, enjoying family time, playing games.
The weather fluctuated from very hot days and very rainy days to chilly evenings. I did not use the AC as the breeze off the lake was enough to cool the house down. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting an enjoyable, relaxing place to stay."

"My husband and I were looking to do a little "Mom and Dad getaway" for an extended weekend. We were hoping to stay in a log cabin. When we saw the pictures online, we knew it was the perfect one! When we arrived, it was simply breathtaking! The view from the family room was simply gorgeous. We loved sitting in the family room at night with the lights dimmed low for a cozy feel. The rest of the home was also decorated perfectly! We are from the Milwaukee area and stopped at a few wineries on the way up. We also visited the winery in Hayward and did some shopping. We felt like the weekend went waaay too fast. We loved the cabin so much that we talked to our kids into returning again this summer. We shared with the kids everything we will be able to do up there (Boating, fishing, ATV's, Horseback riding, Dinner Train, Fish Museum, tubing, etc.) and they are very excited! We can't wait to get back!"

"Our family just completed a stay at the Lazy Moose. We were looking for a relaxing, comfortable and clean lakefront cabin to stay at (where our dog was also welcome) as our summer vacations come to an end. We found all that we were looking for….and more! No problems or complaints to report. Even the weather was awesome. Thanks to the owners for their hospitality and for allowing us to share their vacation home. If possible, we will definitely consider returning in the future."
