  • Perfect Stay Up North!

"My boyfriend and I rented this cabin/home for the 4th of July week. It was a very smooth process from start to finish. I had emailed Jim and called Carolyn with a few questions before we arrived and everything was taken care of. The cabin itself was more than we expected (the photos don't do it justice). Everything was provided including towels and linens. It also has an air conditioning unit. The bed was comfortable and we slept in the room facing the lake. We opened the windows at night and listened to the water crash against the shore and the loons that were right off the dock. It was pretty great! We also fished pretty much everyday while we were there. The weather was a bit windy during our stay, so we didn't go out as much as we wanted too, but we were able to catch panfish off the dock. The boat landing is within walking distance and the dock is available to tie up too the entire stay. There was also a paddleboat, row boat, and canoe to use, but we didn't use any of them. Jim and Carolyn were great hosts (thanks for sharing some beer with us Jim!) and we would love to come back and stay again either in the fall or next summer. The location was perfect, and the sunsets were amazing everyday! You won't regret staying here if you want to get a way for a week! We loved it! Tanya & Kevin"

  • cabin review

"The cabin was perfect for our group. It is not fancy by any means but if you are wanting fancy then you probably don't vacation in the north woods much. Owners took care of broken coffee pot and microwave within 24 hours of them not working. Loved that we could walk over to Big bear lodge for burgers and beer anytime. We will be renting this cabin next year for sure as it sleeps a lot and rates are reasonable."

  • Nothing short of AMAZING

"This is by far the nicest place we've ever stayed! The owners are beyond nice, the cabin is amazingly and makes you want to stay forever, but the LOCATION is absolutely the selling point! What a beautiful, beautiful area - northern Wisconsin is utterly stunning, especially in the fall. My children and I could have explored the area for WEEKS! One single complaint - we only booked for 2 nights - what a mistake! We will be returning as soon as possible. Thank you, thank you Tom and Karen!"

  • Cozy and secluded cabin makes a perfect winter getaway

"We rented the cabin as a long weekend stay during the American Birkebeiner. The "cabin" is extremely roomy and cozy, and the decor and artistic touches really make you feel at home. The location is secluded enough to give you the peace and quiet that you need, and yet close enough to Spooner, and 40 minutes from Hayward so you can be close to the action. I loved the choice of gas or wood fireplace, and the hot tub after a long day of skiing was absolutely amazing. We were able to watch two nesting eagles from the hot tub; you can't experience that in a hotel! There were only two of us on this trip, but the home is so roomy with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms that it would be a great family getaway. I was able to ski around the beautiful lake as well, and talked to plenty of ice fisherman who were hauling them in. I can't wait to go back and stay during the summer or fall months. This cabin has all of the perfect necessities for an up north experience; lakefront, fireplaces, fire pit, screen porch, entertainment room complete with pool table, deck overlooking the lake, and bunk beds for kids! Thanks for opening your home to travelers!"
