"My wife and I have stayed at many homes and this was the best yet! A well cared for cabin with knotty pine throughout. Cozy, with lots of nice touches made it feel like a Northwoods cabin should feel like. We loved the view over the lake with large glass windows and the trees all around. The screen porch was a cozy place to enjoy our breakfast and have a dinner after grilling on the large deck which also has a fantastic view of the lake! The lake is crystal clear as you can see almost 10 feet to the bottom. A nice sand bottom with a very gradual slope was great for swimming and having children in the water as well. A pontoon is available and we took it to Famous Daves BBQ restaurant which is on the lake just a short ride from the cabin. Very convenient. Reuben the property manager was also extremely friendly and helpful. We would recommend this cabin to anyone! Will definitely return again and have already booked next year! So glad we found it!"

"We were running a bit late on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend due to the traffic coming out of the Twin Cities. So we contacted Jim and he was very gracious about our check in time. We weren't sure what the chalet would be like, as it was kind of a last second rental since so many places were rented for the weekend already. When we got there, Jim was so nice and accommodating, and the chalet was awesome! It was very well kept up, very modern, and plenty of room for the two adults and four kids we had in our group. At first we were kind of down that the lake wasn't out the front door, which of course we knew already when we booked it, but it didn't matter. The lake itself was just a short walk through a nice trail, and the kids enjoyed taking their fishing gear, heading down the trail, and fishing off the dock. We also rented a fishing boat from the resort next to the dock on the lake, and caught LOTS of sunnies and bass, which was quite an accomplishment for the 8, 11, 12 and 13 year olds with us. There was also a troupe of ducklings that came out of the woods and tried to follow the kids all over. And when the weather didn't cooperate, Jim had offered us a list of like 60 newly released movies that he had. We barbecued, had bonfires, and even ran into Spooner for dinner one night. It was a great location, and I can tell you if we are looking for a place just a couple of hours from the twin cities again, Jim's chalet will be top on the list. Thanks!"

Cozy and secluded cabin makes a perfect winter getaway
"We rented the cabin as a long weekend stay during the American Birkebeiner. The "cabin" is extremely roomy and cozy, and the decor and artistic touches really make you feel at home. The location is secluded enough to give you the peace and quiet that you need, and yet close enough to Spooner, and 40 minutes from Hayward so you can be close to the action. I loved the choice of gas or wood fireplace, and the hot tub after a long day of skiing was absolutely amazing. We were able to watch two nesting eagles from the hot tub; you can't experience that in a hotel!
There were only two of us on this trip, but the home is so roomy with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms that it would be a great family getaway. I was able to ski around the beautiful lake as well, and talked to plenty of ice fisherman who were hauling them in. I can't wait to go back and stay during the summer or fall months.
This cabin has all of the perfect necessities for an up north experience; lakefront, fireplaces, fire pit, screen porch, entertainment room complete with pool table, deck overlooking the lake, and bunk beds for kids!
Thanks for opening your home to travelers!"
