  • Fatbike Birkie

"Some friends and I came down to ride the Fatbike Birkie in early March and had an excellent stay! Plenty of room in the heated garage to tune our bikes the night before the race, and a nice large kitchen to cook in. Had a little bit of trouble with the ignitor on the gas grill, but found a long lighter inside and cooked up some elk backstrap. Nice comfy beds, plenty of room to stretch out in the living room, and quiet neighborhood for a relaxing stay. We live on the North Shore of Lake Superior and as a home builder have a lot of experience with vacation rental properties and I'd rate this one as a pretty typical of rental properties up here. Nothing fancy or overly striking, but a practical build for a house being shared with strangers. There is an additional booking fee and cleaning charge to consider when staying, which pushed the price up over $800 for a two night stay. That said, the space was clean, warm, and a nice place to come back to after the race. I would consider staying here again for future Fatbike Birkie's."

  • Thanksgiving retreat

"We had a wonderful time in the Artist's Lake-View home. The fun, funky home is filled with fabulous original artwork. The house was well equipped. The sauna was fabulous! There was plenty of areas for our family to hang-out together or have some quiet time. The fireplace and wood-burning stove made for a cozy warm home. The kitchen was very well stocked and we had a great Thanksgiving dinner. The nearby hiking was great as were the towns. We wished we could stay longer."

  • family memories

"We spent our second family vacation in this cabin on upper lake Kimbell... It felt like home! We got there and all we had to do was unpack and start enjoying...the cabin was clean and ready for us...its very homey and comfortable. We love fishing off the dock and caught enough fish for supper:-) our youngest is 2 and the oldest is 65. All ages have a great time....the only thing that will not work for us any longer is that there is no bedroom on the main floor. We have a family member that can no longer do the stairs...we are very sad about this because we love this cabin. Would recommend it for great family fun and memories."
