"My husband and I rented this cabin to get away from Chicago and celebrate our 2nd Anniversary. What an amazing place!! The serenity is beyond words. Waking up to the sun shining in off the water, relaxing with a cup of coffee in the gorgeous screened in deck, taking the canoe to the islands, fishing off the dock, sitting by the campfire at night...everything was just amazing and RELAXING!!! (And our pups loved it too!) We already want to go back. Thank you Fred!!"

"We rented the property for a week in late June and it was simply fantastic. The house was in great shape and provided way more room then we needed for a family of four. Although the water was a bit chilly we all had a blast in the lake as we spent time on the lake each day; especially loved the early morning calm when we could canoe or paddle board (rented from Hayward Outfitters - would definitely recommend them for any of your boating needs) and view the loons and eagles on the lake. Hayward is an easy drive (about 35 min) so you can enjoy the shops and restaurants there (recommend the Norsk Nook - nice meal, great service and pies are insane!) and Duluth is also an easy drive too, as it is only about an hour away. We enjoyed the fire pit having the required night of s'mores. The entire local area has some nice hiking trails with lots of wildlife to be seen (and yes, that inlcudes black bears, so be on the lookout!) The only recommendation I would have for the owners is to maybe do some minor repairs on pool cue tips and ping pong paddles (hard to put spin on the ball using bare wood paddles lol). We would highly recommend this proprty for families wanting to spend some time away from it all and looking to enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of the cities."

"Our family of 10 (8 adults, 2 children) wanted to get away to a vacation where we could get some quality relaxation with great views. This home did not disappoint any of our expectations! It is a perfect size with plenty of room for everyone to get together but also find personal space. The view is spectacular especially at sunrise. It doesn't hurt that a bald eagle perched itself on the closest tree to the house for our viewing pleasure. The kitchen area is ideal for cooking up some great meals while conversing with your loved ones. There is so much to do in the area and Ted & Jill helped immensely with ideas. They know the locale very well and can be a great resource. We scratched a few ideas off the list but left enough to want to come back. Thanks for a great vacation get-a-way, all the help, and following up with us afterwards!"

"This was a great place to get away from it all. Very secluded and off the beaten path. Accommodations were clean and modern. I would highly recommend this rental! Great place for the price and beautiful surroundings."
