"We were amazed how tastefully everything was decorated and how well stocked they were in the kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable and we got a good nights sleep every night. The lot is very private. On the water we saw beaver, heron, and eagle. We walked to the dam to look at the falls and found the otter playing in the rapids and turtles laying eggs by the side of the road. We rented a pontoon boat for an afternoon on clam lake just out of Siren and stopped at a cool place to shop that had absolutely everything. It was a trip to remember and we hope to rent there again. Thank you Larry for sharing your beautiful place."

"Very well equipped cabin with all the cooking essentials needed. There is a cord to plug in your laptop, but no wifi. Nice dock for your boat. Deck right on the lake is great. Walking distance to town."

"Everything was 100% perfect about this property during our week-long stay (2 adults, 2 kids). Clean and so many amenities, including laundry facilities and brand new dishwasher (my idea of a vacation does not include housework) and tons of firewood. Screened porch is great. Huge bedrooms and two super-clean and updated bathrooms made everything very comfortable. Easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and ferry in La Pointe (including our friends' candle shop ;) ). Agree with other reviewers that it still feels secluded, even though close to town. Wi-fi also worked great for staying connected, esp when the weather didn't cooperate. Absolutely no complaints about this place and will be looking for another week or weekend to book next year - I look forward to becoming a "regular". You can tell a lot of care is taken by the owners."

Family Gathering "....in the Pines" for our 41st Anniversary
"We had planned to do this last year in September but family issues arose. Patti very graciously put us on her calendar for this September, same time, same place. Our reunion went off without a hitch! We enjoyed each other's company but especially enjoyed introducing our grandsons to the great North Woods! They enjoyed fishing in the river, camp fire and smores at night, day trip to Duluth to see the big ships and a good time was had by all! We were a party of 6 adults and 4 small boys and the accommodations were outstanding! A major plus....we got to see the Northern Lights one night and the Fall color was just starting during our time there! It was tough to leave it all behind and return to our jobs. With Patti's help, we made memories that will last a lifetime! If you're looking for peace and solitude....if you're looking for a place far from the maddening crowd....if you have a desire to re-connect with the great North Woods, then this is the place for you and yours! Maybe it's time you took the advice of Robert Frost. In 1916 he wrote, "....Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less-traveled by....And that has made all the difference." As for me and mine, the less-traveled road to Patti's "Place In The Pines" was a great choice for us! Give her a call and check it out for yourself. You'll be glad you did!"
