"If you're looking for a place that allows you to enjoy the beauty and feel of Madeline Island in its entirety, you can find it right here. As a seasoned "summer person" that has visited the Island for decades, I can tell you that this cottage really does capture the character of the island. The inside of the cottage is cozy and comfortable, but if you're looking to spend time enjoying the Island, the beaches and Lake Superior - this is where you should be. If you've been visiting the island for a long time, you'll know that it changes you but you don't change it! That's part of what makes this place special - once you become and islander you'll see why."

"My husband and I went here for a weekend away and to visit copper falls and it was perfect! We had beautiful views from our cabin, everything was very clean and the owners were super nice! The only complaint we had about the whole thing was that the beds were not very comfortable but that is it! Everything else worked out great! Definitely coming back again!"

"We stayed in your island home mid September 2014. The fall colors were beautiful, peak I'm pretty sure. Your home is very private, very clean inside and suitable for large groups. We had 5 adults and 2 day visitors and we were more than comfortable. We enjoyed the campfire and of course the fishing. I now have a big fish story to tell and the fish that got away gets bigger and bigger everytime I tell my tale. One evening the lake was like glass and we caught one panfish after another right off the dock. Such fun! We did notice that the kitchen could use some more baking dishes, casseroles etc. Also some wine glasses would be nice. The dishwasher didn't work, but we had several dishwashers along that were willing to pitch in. The pontoon was easy to operate and we enjoyed a cruise around the lake, and docking wasn't a problem even though we aren't experts. Overall we had a wonderful time and thank the owners for sharing their home."

"My husband and I came with our three sons and their families for a weeks rest and relax station in Hayward. My husband had been staying in Hayward area 20 years ago every year for vacation and had been telling us all about it for the last 10 years what a wonderful place it was. Dave's place worked well for the 4 families with people from age 4 to 60. And my husband was right. The lake was beautiful and clear. The kids played off the dock and it was under 5 ft probably 20 feet out. We rented a pontoon And boated , swam, fished, and tubed on the lake. We go karted, shopped, and ate in town. We spent a lot of time on Dave's deck, the campfire was great and the kids loved the swing set. The kitchen was well equipped as we cooked everyday. On the one cold Rainey day we made good use of the movies and games supplied. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!
What kind of changes would we make? Maybe ceiling fans, dehumidifier in basement( one son used the bedroom in the basement and he said his bed was fine, my husband and I used the hide-a-bed, we kept window open and it stormed several nights, our bedding felt dAmp)or air cond. Maybe a cAnoe or kayak. We would have liked to bring our dog. Just some ideas.
We saw deer, ducks, eagles, loon, chipmunk, and BEAR!!! The grandkids are already asking to come back next year."
