"I took my husband on a surprise birthday getaway after a stressful fall. I was nervous about going to the island because it was off season and I was not sure there would be much for us to do, BUT it turned out to be an excellent way to relax and spend some quality time together. The condo was clean and heated when we arrived. We ate at The Beach Club, Maggies, and the Big Water Coffee shop has amazing cold press! We also went to the Candy SHoppe and got some of their wine bread. We were lucky that the Saturday during out stay was a free ferry ride day so we went to the shops and there were some Christmas hand made shops in the pavilion. It was a great way to get away which is what we were wanting!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Diamond. Enjoyed swimming at Big Bay Town Park and hiking at Big Bay State Park. The thunder of waves in the sea caves was amazing. It rained off and on, but we loved sitting in the porch (lighted with christmas lights) listening to the patter of the rain and the crashing of the waves. The view from the cabin was spectacular, especially during the Super Moon. We had a great bon fire and cooked on the grill each night. Loved the outdoor shower, especially after visiting the sandy beaches on the island. Had a good lunch at the Beach Club and drinks at Tom's Burned Down Bar. Our puppy appreciated warming up in front of the gas fire place, since he had to jump into Lake Superior whenever he got the chance. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting Madeline Island."

"We enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. There were 8 of us - 4 adults and 4 kids - that found the house comfortable and suited to our needs. The kitchen was easy to work in and had everything we needed to prepare and serve our meals. An abundance of towels and sundries were available as well which was appreciated. Unfortunately a recent storm had decimated the beach so we weren't able to spend any time exploring the lakeshore and walking through the yard meant side-stepping a lot of goose droppings. It was necessary to consistently check shoes when entering the house to ensure nothing got tracked in but we were all aware so it wasn't a big issue. We enjoyed the area, Big Bay Park, and La Pointe. I suggest to make sure to bring everything you need and to fill gas tanks prior to taking the ferry to the island. Supplies were sparse in the grocery store and gas was $1.00 more per gallon than on the mainland. A great time was had by all and we would rent this property again."

"We are 6 friends who've known each other for about 35 years. We enjoyed hiking, cooking good meals, and wading at the town park beach. Trips to town were fun...Woods Hall is not to be missed. Did a little Christmas shopping there:))"
