"Another great weeks stay! If you are looking for a QUIET place to rest your bones, this is the place. If you are looking for a central place to catch musky, bass, pike and panfish like I was, here you go. I have been going to this part of the state for about 10 years now. I like this area because it's in a less touristy part of the state... and the fishing! It has everything you need to relax quietly. I just pack my clothes and fishing gear and go. Its very clean and well kept. I particularly like the large fire pit with supplied wood for the evenings after a good days fishing."

  • Just perfect!

"This was the most memorable vacation for my girls this summer ( and it competed with their first European 2-week trip as well). We brought our small boat to do some tubbing as well as some great fishing. The girls loved the beach and the lake. The grounds are immaculate and the setting is spectacular. The cabin is as described and so much more. Comfortable, spacious, clean and cozy. The grounds keeper, Richard, was very helpful and courteous. This property is a hidden gem in the woods so please handle with care 'cause we're coming back."

  • Simply spectacular!

"Eaglesnest is everything you could want in a northwoods retreat, and Gail and Rick are excellent hosts. We've traveled the world; much of America, Euorpe, Asia, the Carribean, and have never felt so welcome and at home. Only negative is that we had to leave so soon."

  • Wonderful Family Trip

"We loved the Loghome on a semi-private island. We had 13 people and we fit in the 5 bedroom home just fine. There is a large master bedroom with bath upstairs with a small loft space outside it. Two nice size bedrooms on the main floor w bath and two large bedrooms in the finished basement w bath. Also plenty of room in the living room and the basement to set up a air mattress etc.. There is a lot to do at the lake home, there is swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, volleyball / badmintton court, ping pong table and a closet full of board games. The home has a great deck and huge screened in porch, you feel like you are outside without the bugs. There is a large firepit with all the wood you could want to burn, right off the deck. The lake is a short walk down a path and is very shallow and clean, great swimming. The swimming beach is fine sand with zero entry, good for little ones, and located across from the beach, about 200 yards is a sand bar. We had a great time swimming out to the sandbar and hanging out for the day with little kids and everyone, about 3' deep with smooth sand bottom. Things to know about the cabin - the cabin is NOT close to a real grocery / liquor store, so plan on stopping before you get there or bring the food/booze with you - Sponner is about a 25minute drive away with a real grocery. Bilik's Amusement Center was a fun afternoon of go-karting and minigolf, near Spooner. I can't recommend the place more, really great house and it is isolated enough to feel as you are alone in the woods. If you are looking for a place to just hang out and watch the world go by this is the relaxing retreat for you. We loved it and will be back someday."
