  • Beautiful cabin on a quiet lake!

"Our family of five (plus our dog) stayed for about a week in this gorgeous home! The house was clean when we arrived and had all of the amenities and space we needed. We could tell that it would easily satisfy larger groups too. The lake was beautiful and QUIET! There was not much boat traffic on the lake, so going out and fishing from the paddle boat was really nice. We could hear loons and even noticed that there was a Bald Eagle with a nest in one of the nearby trees! We didn't have the greatest weather during our stay, but that was ok because the location was not too far from Hayward or Bayfield or even Duluth for day trips. Also, there were plenty of things to do at the house like play basketball (which we did almost every night) or watch movies (in 3D!). Additionally, the owner was always quick to reply to questions via email. Overall, if your looking to get away and find some peace and quiet from your busy life and enjoy the outdoors, we don't think you could go wrong here!"

  • Christmas in the Pines...

"By far and away the best Christmas in many years. A gorgeous home, with so many amenities. We all enjoyed playing pool, ping pong (big doubles tourney), darts, games, and we also had a slide show of old family photos. We even made Ukrainian eggs (Pysanky) in the spacious kitchen/dining area. Every day, I hiked the river in solitude and took incredible winter scene photos. Patti is awesome to work with and very accommodating. Thank you for our slice of respite."

  • Awesome 4 day winter retreat at the Pixley again!!

"My family and I just spent 4 days up at the Pixley. We arrived on Thursday to 8-10" of fresh snow. But that's not a problem as the owner has someone come and plow for you(included in price). All the UP ski resorts are about an hour away. That's okay by us. Skiing was great. Also included is all the wood you can burn in the fireplace. After a day of skiing there is nothing greater than a hot shower, warm fire, a glass of wine and a great meal. Pets are welcome and they have almost as much fun as we do. We have used the Pixley in the summer and winter and enjoy both seasons there. There is a large screen tv with a cd player for those red box movies from in town. This place has what you need to relax and have fun"
