  • Absolutely perfect for X-country skiing getaway

"I am saddened that this place is all booked up on the weekends ( winter) I wanted to visit NW WI ski trails. My family of 8 had plenty of room and themsome. Highly recommend this cabin!!!"

  • The Best R&R

"I have been renting this lovely island home in the woods for 36 years and find it the best rest and relaxation spot for me. It is THE coziest place on a cool, rainy day (doesn't it always rain when you-re on vacation, at least one of the days) with a fireplace, a large supply of firewood, and windows all around the large room that doubles as living and dining. Madeline has loads of attractions for those who want to be active and entertained, but I go there for peace and quiet and it is perfect for me. I have just returned and read 3 books, slept until mid-morning each day, cooked all my own meals, walked every day, and feel totally refreshed and relaxed! Come, it's addictive!"

  • Magical!!

"We stayed at this wonderful vacation home in August 2013 and are so excited to go back soon! We stayed with 8 adults and 4 toddlers/infants and it was the perfect setup. The house is very updated and beautiful, and the scenery is absolutely pristine. The deck is an exceptional place to cookout, eat, or just sit back and get in some reading. We all enjoyed the tranquility and privacy of the location, but we didn't have to feel like we were "roughing it" more than we wanted to with the hot tub, wi-fi, and modern updates. The boat was also great and easy to use (as someone who has minimal boating experience and had to use it in all types of weather). The firepit was our absolute favorite element of the trip. There was plenty of seating around it and it is situated right against the water with a beautiful view of the lake as well as the stars. Overall, it was a great experience. Our only disappointment was that swimming was pretty much a no-go due to the water temperature, but that was our failing, not theirs. We can't wait to return!"

  • Superior Accomodations and Hosts

"Wish all VRBO's could be like this. Stayed 3 weeks for work but not long enough. Attentive and accommodating hosts. Great communication. Very clean and comfortable with the best location in the area. The view from the TV room is breathtaking. The bike or walk path is a few strides away. Comfortable beds. Keeping the fan on will reduce the traffic noise if you are a light sleeper. Many great restaurants and pizza places like Frankie's and Hugo's. Best restaurant in Ashland is The Platter. Best bakery and sandwiches/soup ever is Coco Bakery in Washburn only 10 miles away. Well worth the drive. We will definitely stay here again. Have to book in advance because this place gets snatched quickly which in itself tells you it is really desirable."
