  • family reunion delight

"We found the lodge much better than advertized! Our family ranged from age 1 to 71 and everyone found lots to do. The owner had some great ideas that made our stay a wonderful experience ! There was a much larger variety of toys, books and kitchen needs than we expected. The kayaks were great and the idea of staking them and using a rope gave the younger children the thrill of "going alone". We had so much fun inside as well as outside the lodge that the only other place we went was the Pow Wow that the owner told us about. The little ones were even able to join in the dance ! The huge space available in the lodge (as well as outside) gave all of us as much quiet or "fun time" as each one wanted. The playroom inside and the playhouse plus sand box outside was used every day. What a beautiful place to have a family reunion! I would certainly love to return!"

  • Girl's Getaway

"I learned about this sight accidentally while searching places for a small group of ladies to get away. We decided upon the Farmhouse Retreat because it looked secluded, yet homey. It had the space we needed and only a couple hours away. Once arriving we were pleasantly surprised. It was so much nicer than we could have expected. First I have to say meeting the owners was a pleasure. We enjoyed talking with them, they are really nice people. It's evident they want you to enjoy your stay. The pictures are very nice, but you really don't get the whole feel of the place until you get there. The house has EVERYTHING you could possibly want or need. Kitchen is nicely decorated and was fully stocked with anything we needed to prepare our meals (not food of course) and a small tv. Bathrooms were nice sized and plenty of clean towels and nicely decorated. Living room had plenty of sitting space, with a t.v. and stereo. No Cable tv or internet though. A huge front porch with plenty of seating to look out at the tire swings in the front yard, or my favorite part...watching the cows next door. Bedrooms were nice sized with plenty of storage for your things. The beds were so comfortable. The garage is stocked with outdoor games to play. There is a lil area out back where you can make a small fire. We came in the fall and loved seeing all the beautiful colors outdoors in all directions. We would absolutely 100% recommend this place. We already agreed we want to come back. Our only issue was only one out of four of us was able to make/receive calls ...but that is going to happen due to being in a rural area. There is no internet, although it was frustrating not being able to use my IPad, at the same time...isn't that what getting away is all about? It's all in your perspective. We loved our stay. I know you will too."

  • Fabulous Cottage!

"The cottage and setting were perfect. Everything you might need is there for you. We had fun canoeing, walking the grounds, fishing, sitting in the sauna, etc. The cottage is decorated with beautiful antiques and the lane to the cottage is lined with fun decorations. This is a great place to stay. Comfortable and spotless. The owner had fresh-baked bars waiting for us when we arrived. Hope to return!!"

  • Ideal Wisconsin Cabin

"When I picture a Wisconsin cabin, this is it. While there are neighbors they blend into the background. The place is spacious and comfortable. There are some very family friendly games provided as well as a large collection of VHS movies. (I didn't check, but I think the machine plays DVDs too) We spent the time either hiking or on the water. Some great restaurants nearby, so you will not go hungry. It is secluded - but then it is quiet and restful."
