"My husband and I spent a great time at Heidi's place. The owner is easy to talk to. The house is nicely prepared for guests. Great area; very quiet and around of the nature. We had such a nice time there. Our dog was "in heaven" with amount of space for running and playing outside. The lake is amazing. The only one thing that we didn't expect was the fact that the paddle boat was not prepared for the season. We really were counting on using it; however, we still had a great time there. I definitely would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Heidi for this wonderful opportunity of being there and enjoying the nature."

"We loved the Loghome on a semi-private island. We had 13 people and we fit in the 5 bedroom home just fine. There is a large master bedroom with bath upstairs with a small loft space outside it. Two nice size bedrooms on the main floor w bath and two large bedrooms in the finished basement w bath. Also plenty of room in the living room and the basement to set up a air mattress etc.. There is a lot to do at the lake home, there is swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, volleyball / badmintton court, ping pong table and a closet full of board games. The home has a great deck and huge screened in porch, you feel like you are outside without the bugs. There is a large firepit with all the wood you could want to burn, right off the deck. The lake is a short walk down a path and is very shallow and clean, great swimming. The swimming beach is fine sand with zero entry, good for little ones, and located across from the beach, about 200 yards is a sand bar. We had a great time swimming out to the sandbar and hanging out for the day with little kids and everyone, about 3' deep with smooth sand bottom. Things to know about the cabin - the cabin is NOT close to a real grocery / liquor store, so plan on stopping before you get there or bring the food/booze with you - Sponner is about a 25minute drive away with a real grocery. Bilik's Amusement Center was a fun afternoon of go-karting and minigolf, near Spooner. I can't recommend the place more, really great house and it is isolated enough to feel as you are alone in the woods. If you are looking for a place to just hang out and watch the world go by this is the relaxing retreat for you. We loved it and will be back someday."

Cozy and secluded cabin makes a perfect winter getaway
"We rented the cabin as a long weekend stay during the American Birkebeiner. The "cabin" is extremely roomy and cozy, and the decor and artistic touches really make you feel at home. The location is secluded enough to give you the peace and quiet that you need, and yet close enough to Spooner, and 40 minutes from Hayward so you can be close to the action. I loved the choice of gas or wood fireplace, and the hot tub after a long day of skiing was absolutely amazing. We were able to watch two nesting eagles from the hot tub; you can't experience that in a hotel!
There were only two of us on this trip, but the home is so roomy with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms that it would be a great family getaway. I was able to ski around the beautiful lake as well, and talked to plenty of ice fisherman who were hauling them in. I can't wait to go back and stay during the summer or fall months.
This cabin has all of the perfect necessities for an up north experience; lakefront, fireplaces, fire pit, screen porch, entertainment room complete with pool table, deck overlooking the lake, and bunk beds for kids!
Thanks for opening your home to travelers!"

"My wife and I and our three dogs stayed here the last week of July 2014. We loved the cabin, and the very nice screened in porch. Plenty of room, nice grounds and dock. We used the boat a little and caught lots of fish. Northern,Bass, Rock Bass, Perch, and tons of Sunnies. We did just as good fishing right from the dock. We mostly just relaxed and enjoyed the quiet of the pines. Seen lots of birds and the 3 eagles that nest as you look left from the dock. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. Recommend it highly!"
