"We took our first family vacation with our adult children. 6 adults, a 3 year old and a 4 1/2 month old. We all had our own lovely space with enough privacy for all of us. We had the boathouse for yoga and hiding from the babies. We had the game room with an unlimited amount of games for all ages. We had the cozy library with gas fireplace for reading. The massive stone fireplace in the main living room was wonderful. The enormous kitchen was wonderful for all of us, and so well stocked with every dish, pots, pans anything we needed. The large farm table accommodated all of us. We used every level of deck when it was nice out. Hung a hammock and was well used. We rented a pontoon for the week, so fishing and many fun Happy Hours on the boat. Loved having access to the washer and dryer especially with small kids. There is not a swimming beach, the steps leading to the dock are many, but very maneuverable when caution is used. Swam in the lake without having a beach, but our granddaughter was so busy running around doing other things, it didn't even occur to her she wasn't swimming. Lots of small towns around and we ate out several times. Toni was wonderful to work with, and has a beautiful property that she shares. Would definately stay again."

  • Everything was perfect!

"My husband & I really enjoyed our week stay at cabin! It was so relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. Their description of the property was exactly as described. The pictures and previous reviews really helped us to decide that this was the place we wanted to stay at. It is immaculate and very well cared for. Just sitting by the river, reading and relaxing was such a treat. Watching all the hummingbirds was fun! The fishing was good; we caught many small mouth bass. Really enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks. Met their nice neighbor and had a few beers with them. If you visit, make sure to check out the eagles nest which is about half way between the cabin and Flaters. It's across the river from where the Old Bogies Bar sign is on the road. It was fun to go up to Old Bogies Bar & Flaters for a beer, everyone was very nice. At the end of the week, I told Paul that there was only one problem, we don't want to leave! Thank you Paul & Troy so much, we had a wonderful time. -David & Amy"

  • family reunion delight

"We found the lodge much better than advertized! Our family ranged from age 1 to 71 and everyone found lots to do. The owner had some great ideas that made our stay a wonderful experience ! There was a much larger variety of toys, books and kitchen needs than we expected. The kayaks were great and the idea of staking them and using a rope gave the younger children the thrill of "going alone". We had so much fun inside as well as outside the lodge that the only other place we went was the Pow Wow that the owner told us about. The little ones were even able to join in the dance ! The huge space available in the lodge (as well as outside) gave all of us as much quiet or "fun time" as each one wanted. The playroom inside and the playhouse plus sand box outside was used every day. What a beautiful place to have a family reunion! I would certainly love to return!"

  • Quiet and spacious

"We enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. There were 8 of us - 4 adults and 4 kids - that found the house comfortable and suited to our needs. The kitchen was easy to work in and had everything we needed to prepare and serve our meals. An abundance of towels and sundries were available as well which was appreciated. Unfortunately a recent storm had decimated the beach so we weren't able to spend any time exploring the lakeshore and walking through the yard meant side-stepping a lot of goose droppings. It was necessary to consistently check shoes when entering the house to ensure nothing got tracked in but we were all aware so it wasn't a big issue. We enjoyed the area, Big Bay Park, and La Pointe. I suggest to make sure to bring everything you need and to fill gas tanks prior to taking the ferry to the island. Supplies were sparse in the grocery store and gas was $1.00 more per gallon than on the mainland. A great time was had by all and we would rent this property again."
