  • Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

"First of all, I am conflicted in writing this review as it may make their calendar too full with other renters but I guess I'll take the risk. This cottage totally brought back memories of childhood for both me and my wife. Going swimming, catching fireflies, having a campfire; All in the prettiest little cottage that is actually surprisingly roomy. The view from the pier is beautiful. While we did not take advantage of renting a boat we did spend a bunch of time in the water and it was super fun. Connie and Ross have thought of everything and even brought over some lawn toys for us to play with our daughter. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had plenty of room. We could have easily slept 6 with the included futon. We made use of the gas grill for both nights and it worked fine on our brats and burgers. We brought some dvd's for late night movies and they played great on the included flat screen. Piggly Wiggly is a couple miles away so stop there first and then you don't need to head back out after you arrive. We're looking forward to spending time there next year and for years to come. Highly recommended."

  • Serene & Beautiful

"This property is beautiful! Our whole family loved the place! It is very serene. There are a pair of cranes with a nest on the west side of the pond. They have a chick; I don't know if that is the correct term for a young crane. The cranes are out on the yard early in the morning and often in the evening. There is at least one muskrat in the pond. There are lots of birds around that sound great early in the morning and in the evening. One day there was a group of turkey vultures over the north side of the property. Frogs croaking in the evening and into the night is a sound that I haven't heard in years. For me it isn't a lovely sound but it is nostalgic. My wife & I saw a deer when we went for a walk on the road one morning. We could see deer tracks on the walking trail that goes from the driveway to the edge of property. Our grandchildren loved the yard. They caught and released frogs, toads and fireflies. We carved some sticks and they cooked S'mores around the fire-pit two evenings. (They didn't feel a need to watch TV!) The house and coach house are both very nice; clean and well maintained. The photos are accurate and reflect this property's appearance. This property is out in the country northeast of Wisconsin Dells. It took us about 9-10 min. to get to downtown WI. Dells and about 13-14 min. to get to Noah's Ark. This property is a great home away from home; we had a wonderful week there."

  • Excellent Stay

"We had a group of eight stay at this home during a weekend ski trip to Devil's Head. The location was great - five minutes from the mountain, and the house was fantastic. Everything was spotless with plenty of linens, towels, etc. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pictures included don't do the home justice. It's very open with seating at the dining table and living room for eight comfortably. The owners were very responsive and easy to coordinate with, we'll definitely be coming back if in the area."

  • Spacious

"Each year we rent a house with another family to celebrate the Holidays. We look for something that has good kitchen facilities so we can cook, some entertainment options so the kids don't get bored and enough rooms to accommodate everyone. This year we rented Big Valley Ranch and for the first time ever we are considering going back again next year. We own vacation rentals as well so we are somewhat picky, but, (we like to think) reasonable. Here are the Pros and Cons from my viewpoint: Pros: Outstanding space for game room. Pool, Foosball, Darts, Jukebox, ample seating for 10 in that area as well for board games and, of course, the bar that is seen in the pictures. Kitchen was big enough for 3 people to be working around each other in it. All kitchen supplies we needed were provided. Directv was available in both the bar area and the living area. Nice seating area for the living room that was able to comfortably seat 10 2 "roll-a-ways" (folding beds) were provided upstairs so each kid could have their own bed. 4 bathrooms in the house and 1 "outhouse" that the kids loved. There is both a grill and a hot tub on the deck (didn't use the grill) - Kids used the Hot Tub and they had fun. Beautiful scenery and tremendous trails - we walked many of them and it was peaceful (but hilly) Cons: The 2 "master" bedrooms had Queen size beds - I'd prefer Kings. Overall the unit was in great condition (clean, stocked, etc.), however, the dishwasher was not working in the kitchen. Since there was a dishwasher in the bar area we were able to adjust, but that should have been fixed within 1 day in my opinion. Foosball table had a broken/missing man - we made do without it, but it is one of the little things that you remember About 1/3 of the CD selections in the Jukebox were missing. There were still many options and we loved using it, but by either removing those CD options or putting in new ones would really have a positive impact. Overall the Cons are not deal breakers by any stretch - more of just suggestions to make the stay a perfect 5 star experience. Again, we typically like to explore different places, but this one just may have us coming back for more!"
