  • Wonderful week!

"We chose this property for a getaway week with our 11 year old granddaughter that we call our "making memories" week. Basically, we go and do whatever she wants! We had a great week of going to House on the Rock, the National Crane Foundation, shopping at Wisconsin Dells and hiking/swimming at Devils Lake State Park. We never turned on the TV and had endless hours of playing board games, eating on the lovely deck and canoeing on the water. Cool breezes off the water meant air conditioning was not needed and great sleeping weather. We were also able to bring our small dog, which reduced the stress of leaving her home. This is a great place to disconnect from electronics and get back to family activities. A great week!"

  • Enjoyable Stay

"We had a two different families with a group of 4 adults and 4 kids for most of Labor Day weekend. One family stayed in the loft and the other on the main floor. There is a full/queen bedroom upstairs and a wide couch with thick pillows which worked well for the kids. The first floor bedrooms had comfortable beds and plenty of room to store our belongings. We also had our dog along and Carol was very helpful when he managed to escape while we were out for a boat ride! She lives down below with the walkout. The deck has a beautiful view of the lake and the sand bars are a short boat ride around the point. There was plenty of room for the kids ages 4 and older to run around and play in the sand. The house had everything we needed and more. Carol was great! Very friendly and very accommodating!"

  • Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

"First of all, I am conflicted in writing this review as it may make their calendar too full with other renters but I guess I'll take the risk. This cottage totally brought back memories of childhood for both me and my wife. Going swimming, catching fireflies, having a campfire; All in the prettiest little cottage that is actually surprisingly roomy. The view from the pier is beautiful. While we did not take advantage of renting a boat we did spend a bunch of time in the water and it was super fun. Connie and Ross have thought of everything and even brought over some lawn toys for us to play with our daughter. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had plenty of room. We could have easily slept 6 with the included futon. We made use of the gas grill for both nights and it worked fine on our brats and burgers. We brought some dvd's for late night movies and they played great on the included flat screen. Piggly Wiggly is a couple miles away so stop there first and then you don't need to head back out after you arrive. We're looking forward to spending time there next year and for years to come. Highly recommended."

  • Last minute change in plans - Amazing!!

"With Mother Nature dropping another 14" on our cabin up north and a long weekend already planned we could not have been more pleasantly surprised and grateful for the unexpected change in direction. The owner immediately responded with a response - all details and payment secured in less than two hours. From the moment we walked in to the time we left - we were continuously amazed at the attention to detail and overall ambience of the cabin. The fishing was not so great but a certain fisherman shared his catch with us - another example of excellent customer service is the very humorous and witty care taker who allowed our lab a gusty welcome - we were more concerned then him but her wagging tail And excitement pretty much said it all. We have used vrbo often but never so close to home. All have been pleasant and this was no exception. Next time warmer weather and more time in the boats exploring the water. Thank you again Dave for sharing your cottage with us."
