  • Friend Ski Trip

"This home was amazing and VERY COMFORTABLE. Everything in this house was extremely comfy from the beds to the couch. The owner was extremely helpful and he accommodated every one of my requests. I loved how close it was to Devil's Head Ski Resort as well as Cascade Mountain. I will defiantly be returning to this home next year, it was a great 1st experience in Wisconsin. I hope you enjoy this home as much as my friends and I! :)"

  • Spacious

"Each year we rent a house with another family to celebrate the Holidays. We look for something that has good kitchen facilities so we can cook, some entertainment options so the kids don't get bored and enough rooms to accommodate everyone. This year we rented Big Valley Ranch and for the first time ever we are considering going back again next year. We own vacation rentals as well so we are somewhat picky, but, (we like to think) reasonable. Here are the Pros and Cons from my viewpoint: Pros: Outstanding space for game room. Pool, Foosball, Darts, Jukebox, ample seating for 10 in that area as well for board games and, of course, the bar that is seen in the pictures. Kitchen was big enough for 3 people to be working around each other in it. All kitchen supplies we needed were provided. Directv was available in both the bar area and the living area. Nice seating area for the living room that was able to comfortably seat 10 2 "roll-a-ways" (folding beds) were provided upstairs so each kid could have their own bed. 4 bathrooms in the house and 1 "outhouse" that the kids loved. There is both a grill and a hot tub on the deck (didn't use the grill) - Kids used the Hot Tub and they had fun. Beautiful scenery and tremendous trails - we walked many of them and it was peaceful (but hilly) Cons: The 2 "master" bedrooms had Queen size beds - I'd prefer Kings. Overall the unit was in great condition (clean, stocked, etc.), however, the dishwasher was not working in the kitchen. Since there was a dishwasher in the bar area we were able to adjust, but that should have been fixed within 1 day in my opinion. Foosball table had a broken/missing man - we made do without it, but it is one of the little things that you remember About 1/3 of the CD selections in the Jukebox were missing. There were still many options and we loved using it, but by either removing those CD options or putting in new ones would really have a positive impact. Overall the Cons are not deal breakers by any stretch - more of just suggestions to make the stay a perfect 5 star experience. Again, we typically like to explore different places, but this one just may have us coming back for more!"

  • Unique Getaway in Southwest Wisconsin

"There is no other property like this in Southwest Wisconsin. If you're looking for an opportunity to unwind, enjoy beautiful scenery, in a rural setting, this is it. Lots of scenic driving, great places for shopping, sampling and eating are nearby. Frank's passion and skill are showcased in great architecture, craftsmanship, and comfort. (iron foot rests on the porch swing for example). The natural light, built in lighting and handmade furniture add a level of comfort and enjoyment that makes it the unique weekend getaway. We've already booked our 2nd Spring weekend and are talking about a Fall weekend and/or a week in during the Summer. This is a great find...and I'd like to keep it all to myself!"

  • Peaceful retreat

"We really enjoyed our stay. It is so peaceful sitting out on the deck and enjoying the sounds of the birds chirping. We sat out on the deck in the mornings and again in the evenings for grilling. Bugs were not an issue. The house was set up nice and was plenty of room for 2 couples. Lots to do and see in the area. A must while in the area is to go to Devil's Head State Park and Circus World Museum. Go out for the day and come back and enjoy the deck in the evening!!! We made breakfast in the AM and grilled in the evening so unsure of restaurants in the area. There is a great meat market in Baraboo that has everything you need for grilling. We do recommend this property and hope to get back to the area again in the near future."
