  • Family Reunion/80th Brithday celebration

"There were 20 of us that stayed at the house over the first weekend of fall. 16 adults and kids aged 8,6,3,and 1. Overall we had a great weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Positives certainly outweighed the negatives. On the plus side, there was plenty of room for everyone at night which says something for a group this size. I do not think anyone felt cramped and there was enough space for people to go off and do some reading or just relax during down times. Our favorite I think was sitting around the fire pit when the sun went down. The kids (and more than a couple of the adults) enjoyed smores while everyone enjoyed the crisp fall air. The location was very nice and while we did not get out to do much, everything was very close by. On the down side, the house needs a little TLC. There were several windows that were difficult to open/close because of the cranks not working. Both refrigerators had cracked or non-existed shelves, the control knobs for the stove did not want to stay on and there were many little scratches, dings, and dents throughout the house. That all said, we had a wonderful time and everyone commented on what a great find the house was for our group. We are already talking about returning for another reunion in 2 years."

  • Great Rental

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Peace in Time. We had our kids and grandkids with us and there was everything we needed for our five day stay at the condominium. We made all our meals there. The pool was fun, not crowded, the beach and lake area was also super fun. Our grandkids loved playing in the sand and fishing off the dock. Us adults were able to play bean bag toss outside because there was enough room for that (we brought our own). There is one available at the condo too. There is enough room for everyone to sit by the fire in the pit outside. Very close to downtown, but yet off the beaten path for enough peace and quiet. Will rent this property again when we go to the dells!"

  • Very relaxing and central

"We had a great week relaxing at the farm house! Karen is very friendly and helpful, and it was rejuvenating to spend time overlooking the planted fields and reading on the screened porch. The location was central to many things we wanted to do: bike the Elroy-Sparta trail, kayak in Wonewoc, pontoon on Castle Rock Lake, golf, and play in the Dells (Tommy Bartlett, mini-golf, Wild Rock Golf Course, and eat - twice - at the Cheese Factory). Things you might want to know that you can't tell from the website: 1) the beds are comfortable, 2) the bedroom that is pictured is roomy and also has a twin bed in it, 3) the other 2nd floor bedroom is charming and has a double bed, 4) the first floor bedroom is a bit cramped (the bed is up against the wall and there's a curtained-off stackable washer/dryer in the room), 5) all the bedrooms have large closets, 6) the road is close to the house (we slept with the air conditioner on so this only bothered us when were were talking on the porch), 7) the shower head in the first floor bathroom is very low (too low for the shortest of us - who is 5'4" - to be comfortable), 8) the second floor bathroom is cheerful and nicely decorated. We thought the house was charming, a good value, and so much more comfortable than staying in a hotel!"

  • Great place to unplug!

"We were looking for someplace to have a quick get away and found this beauty. While our fishing efforts met with limited success (blame the fisherman!), we did see 3 turkeys, a bald eagle, deer and lots of fish activity. We brought our own kayaks and had a great time paddling around the lake. Our kids commented that it reminded them of their grandparents beach cabin, complete with board games and a lot of fun. We had planned to make a couple trips into the Dells, but found ourselves having a great time just hanging out at the cabin and relaxing."

If you are having a family reunion, there are homes that can handle sleeping arrangements for up to 16 people with VRBO rentals. Anytime of the year is a great time to see the Wisconsin Dells because even if the weather is snowy, guests can still find plenty to keep them busy. A cross country ski vacation could be planned with a trip to an inside water park after a day of fresh air in the woods.

Fun Near Wisconsin Dells Condos

What’s your pleasure when you take your yearly getaway trip to recharge and unwind? Whatever it is, you are sure to find it when you unpack your bags at Wisconsin Dells condos. Several of the condos and homes are located near lakes so you can indulge in swimming, boating and fishing. The lakes of Wisconsin are teeming with fish so that you can prepare a fisherman’s feast every night on your private deck if you choose to do so. If you just want to play on the lake, there will be canoes or kayaks for rent. Devil’s Lake, one of the prime areas in the Wisconsin Dells, also offers scuba diving. There is a state park at Devil’s Lake where guests of the condos can spend many delightful hours.

The Wisconsin Dells themselves are complete with their own types of water vehicles. The Dells Army Ducks are open-air amphibious vehicles that can transport visitors on land and water. The one-hour tours of the lower dells begin on land over bumpy terrain and continue into the Wisconsin River. These sandstone bluffs are incredibly scenic. The duck rides run from the end of May through Labor Day. There are also several water parks in the area with some remaining open throughout the year. Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum is a big draw for children and adults with the strange and unusual items featured on the television show. A Deer Park, Wildlife Park, Variety Show and Exploratory Park are other offerings in this area. An adult’s only form of entertainment in the Dells would be the Ho-Chunk Casino with 24-hour gambling available.

Reaching Wisconsin Dells Lodging

It is very easy to get to Wisconsin Dells lodging by car. Since there are no major airports near the dells, guests can fly into Madison or Milwaukee. If you leave from Milwaukee, take I-94 to I-39/I-90 north. When the two highways split, stay on I-90/I-94 toward the dells. The trip will take several hours depending on which location you are actually leaving from.

Shopping and Dining Close to Wisconsin Dells Homes

Everyone will want to take home a memory of their time at the Wisconsin Dells and there are plenty of places in which to do this. The Tanger Outlet Center offers bargain shopping for clothing items such as Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Gap, Ralph Lauren and Nike. They are located close to Wisconsin Dells homes off I-90/94. If you want a more personal experience, take in the downtown shopping district with gift boutiques, swimwear and sweet shops.

You know that you can fix just about any meal you want in your fully equipped kitchens at your Dells home. However, you may be having so much fun some days that you want to dine out. The area has many offerings to keep everyone’s palette happy. Pizza and pasta are the specialty of Carvelli’s while you can try many of the microbrews at Moosejaw’s. A chop house, Caribbean cuisine, delis and fast food restaurants complete the choices in the Wisconsin Dells.
