"This was a perfect place for our family to spend the weekend. The home is spacious and well furnished and very clean. The weather did not cooperate but it is located right next to the Abbey and the Marina so there were places to go. It also came equipped with lots of board games to keep us occupied. It offers an easy lay out for hosting a family and the kitchen was fully loaded and it came equipped with a BBQ. The balcony is large and offers plenty of seating. We would come back here again in a second. It was absolutely fabulous."

"Kay was wonderful. So helpful and the home is beautifully laid out with relaxing forefront. The hammock, the hot tub, the chairs over looking the lake to enjoy reading. There were only 4 of us for the majority of our stay but we had our family join us for the weekend and we never felt like we were on top of each other. Lots of extra amenities that were not even listed. We utilized the pontoon and the fire pit. We had a fun and memorable vacation for sure! Our only complaint is that the kitchen lacked a couple of finer chef tools. My wife is a gourmet chef and made due with the provided items. The kids loved the water. Absolutely would recommend it! Super relaxing and private setting."

"Owner Suzie was very easy to work with. This was a getaway weekend for a group of ladies and all of our expectations were met! The location is very quiet as you are on a small Peninsula at the tip. Sitting on the deck was almost like being on a boat and when that got too hot in the sun, we moved to the beautiful sun dappled yard We had everything we needed in the kitchen. It looked like the fishermen loved fishing right off the edge of our dock."

"We have just completed our stay at The Retreat. This was quite the wonderful place to vacation. Located right on Lake Michigan - we looked out the window on occasion and it felt like we were on a cruise with the close proximity of the water. There are an amazing number of beds and televisions and other electronic equipment that we had no clue how to use. However ... we did not come to watch TV or play electronic games.
Our group of 11 have been friends for almost 60 years and gather every two years for this reunion. Dan has equipped The Retreat with most anything you would want. There are games, a hot tub, and every appliance known to man. Another very nice touch was paper towels, tissues, plates and napkins that were provided. The road to the house is not paved so it is a little bumpy ... but once you arrive, it is as if you leave the rest of the world behind you.
We visited the Hob Nob Restaurant, the Chancery and John's Dock for some live music entertainment and would recommend them all. The Kenosha Art Museum with an impressive watercolor exhibit and the Natural History Museum were quite fine, and the Civil War Museum was amazing. We would recommend all and they were in close proximity to the house. The Kenosha North Shore Light House was also an enjoyable visit. It is such an easy drive from the Chicago area. So we would heartily recommend anyone to stay at The Retreat."
