"Our son was getting married at Hawks View Golf Course. The drive was 15 minits. Instead of my immediate and extended family getting hotel rooms for 2-3 nights, my husband and I rented this home. The ages of guests were 15-84. There were many reasons for the choice, but the most important was that I didn't need to worry about anything at the house, I had so much to do with the wedding. The house was certainly large enough, with plenty of beds for all, my sister has 3 girls and the basement was perfect for her and her family, and a visiting aunt. The basement bathroom is huge with plenty of hooks to hang towels, the only problem was there weren't any down there, so we had to scramble to accommodate them. Thanks to Sis, she brought some of her own. The Jack N Jill bathrooms on the first floor were convenient for sharing. The other 2 powder rooms (.5 bath) were a huge plus. The Sunroom is awesome, with some early risers they could make coffee and head into the sunroom and not disturb others sleeping. About 9ish in the am, we saw a buck adjacent to the house in the field, he sauntered around picking at vegetation. He had a new rack coming in, but we figured he was 3-5 yrs. old. That was cool. The Kitchen is large and has plenty of work space. People leave behind some condiments etc... in the fridge which is very nice in case you forget something. If I had any complaint it is the room/bed comfortableness. I actually slept in 3 rooms looking for the 'right' one and never found it. One set of twins is very squeaky, one set of twins is not that much better. The King Room is so bright in the AM that I had to wrap a bandana on my eyes. There was a 'musty-ness' to the King Room Closet. This is a pet-free home, I just happen to bring a Nutri-Air spray and I'm glad I did, there is dog bedding in the closet, I must have been sensitive to that and got a little uncomfortable. The process of renting was smooth, you get plenty of do's and don'ts instructions/sheets etc.... This property made the 'wedding' madness a little easier to come home to. Thank You"

  • Girls Getaway

"We had six ladies in our group so bunking up together didn't really work. We had plenty of room to use an airmatress in the livingroom. I would consider renting this house again, Well cared for and top notch kitchen utensils. Delavan is a fun area, close to Lake Geneva too and only an hour's drive from home. We enjoyed the fire pit and use of the grill. It was too cold for lake activities...next time will try a summer rental! Thanks Julie :)"

  • Family Vacation

"We just returned home from our 2nd glorious experience at Moore's Landing and have already made a reservation for next year - 2015. My wife and I hosted our children, their spouses and 6 grandkids ages 8 to 18, and we had plenty of room. Everything in the website description is absolutely accurate. The sleeping accommodations were clean and comfortable. Two of the boys, ages 12 and 14 slept in the game room (sofa bed and futon) and were happy rulers of the 3rd floor. The modern kitchen and full dining room enhanced our togetherness as we were able to share the cooking as well as conversation; The grounds are spacious and immaculate. The multi-person hot tub and the table outside on the deck promoted more socializing. Of course the lake, the pier, and the diving platform were the highlights for the kids - even the 74 year old kid. We had a great time."

  • Family visit

"We came to the area to visit our daughter that works near Lake Geneva and brought our elderly parents and 9yr old daughter with us. The house was great and had plenty of room for all 7 of us and had a very homey feel. The owner, Tony, was quick to respond to all of our inquiries and took care of any problem promptly. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We have a sleep number bed at home and we slept better on the double queen beds in the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen was stocked with all the appliances we could want and my mother-in-law was even able to whip up a huge batch of homemade cinnamon rolls, which were awesome. The hot tub was great and we grilled out several times and never actually even went out to eat. The area was not our typical vacation spot, since we typically do secluded camping/hiking type trips but, since our parents were with us, we kept it low impact. I would recommend the full lake tour from cruiselakegeneva.com and the Yerkes observatory tour, http://astro.uchicago.edu/yerkes/. Otherwise, the area has a lot to offer as a touristy, beach and waterfront type area. The Big Foot state park on the lake looks very nice and we may plan a camping trip there in the future."
