  • Paradise

"Our family of four stayed at the Bears cottage for spring break. It so happened that none of the other cottages were occupied - bonus :). The place is fabulous, cozy, luxurious and we truly enjoyed the serenity and proximity to Mother Nature. Hot tubbing and star gazing is an awesome experience. The owner is extremely helpful, responsive and warm. Will visit agin in summer when we can swim."

  • Quick getaway.

"My husband and Golden retriever stayed for two nights. I smiled when I saw house beautiful this place was. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and many blankets available. It was so quiet and peaceful. No noise! The winery was fun and was very pretty to see it from our window in the living room, it was lite up very nicely. I wish the wood had been stocked up on the deck. It was a little work to carry it up, but well worth the beautiful fire! It was very clean. The stars were beautiful too. It was cold so we did not go out too much, but when warmer the outdoor fire pit and deck would be awesome. I would recommend this place, it was a great get away for our family."

  • Comfortable spacious cabin in a peaceful setting

"We rented this cabin for a quick reunion among young families. We found it to be the perfect place to unplug from our devices. Our nature-loving kids had a blast running around the spacious yard, exploring Sugar Creek and trying out the refreshing spring-fed swimming hole out back. The adults had fun grilling each night and the kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows for S'Mores in the fire pit. In the morning we got our exercise by walking up the road to the top of the mountain…what a view!! As we were only there for a short weekend, we didn't get to try out biking or canoeing but I could certainly see that it would be a blast. The house was wonderfully appointed with all the utensils, pots and pans we needed, including a working coffee maker! The large kitchen with generous island was a pleasure to cook in. There were plenty of comfortable beds for our crew along with all the blankets we needed. The kids enjoyed unwinding to Disney movies in the basement at the end of each night, what a great collection! The owner was wonderful to work with and very prompt in seeing to any detail. Thanks again for opening your warm and inviting home to us!"

  • Wonderful Cabin Getaway

"My wife and I have stayed at several VRBO rentals over the years, and this place is one of the nicest. The cabin is spotless and well equipped. We brought our black lab Mackie who had a wonderful time swimming, fetching, chasing squirrels, and even playing with the owner's black lab one day. Not many places will accept pets these days, so we were fortunate to find this place. It is also very close to where my daughter lives, so we got to spend some time with her. I caught a nice 31" blue catfish our first night there, and missed several others. We had several campfires down by the river while fishing at the same time. There are tons of places to go and things to do in the area. Also good places to eat such as Red Pines on Lake Onalaska and the Hungry Point Bar and Trempealeau Hotel in Trempealeau (8 miles away). The only thing that is not obvious from the pics and description is the hill down to the river is bigger than it looks. You will get a bit of a workout going back and forth, which is a good thing. It's a great place and we had a great time. Will definitely go back."
