"What a neat, clean cabin nestled in the Black River Falls forest! Not far off the road, but far enough to be secluded and quiet. There's a lot to do in the area; we went to Lake Arbitus, Wazee Lake, picked blueberries in Merrillan and hiked in the Castle Mound park area. We had plenty of room for our 5 kids and enjoyed eating on the back patio area, sitting on the front porch, and relaxing by the campfire. Stocked up on groceries at the BRF Walmart about 10 minutes away...ate ice cream at the Dairy Way, and had a great time! The owner was so helpful and prompt in all of our communication; thanks for all of the cozy touches in this cabin!"

"There were 10 of us that stayed there the first week-end in Aug. This was the first time we had stayed at this house and we were pleasantly surprised. The house was very neat and clean and had all the amenities that we needed. We were there to tube the Kickapoo river and this house is conveniently located to all the area has to offer. There were 2 things that stopped me from giving this an excellent rating. The main bedroom downstairs had a 'musty' smell to it. I am assuming that the house had not been rented for a while and therefore was not 'aired' out enough. The other problem was the pull out bed in the living room. It also smelled bad and was very uncomfortable. Instead of saying the house slept 14 I would say it comfortably accomodates 12. We go tubing on the 'Kick' every year and will definetly try to get back to this place."

"This was our 1st stay at this rental property. We absolutely loved our stay at the Sunset Lodge...5+ stars!
First, the reservation process was simple and the owners (Kelly & Judy) were great with correspondence/information/driving directions.
Second, upon our arrival at the house (which happened to be late at night), we were impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the house. The outdoor lighting was on & ample for us to locate the house around 11pm and gave us plenty of light for unpacking.
Third, the interior of the house was clean and had a warm "lodge" feeling. The 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room & living room were spacious & clean. The view from the dining room/living room windows can't be beat. We had the pleasure of viewing incredible sunrises & sunsets over the river each day. The yard was very well maintained, too.
Fourth, although located directly across the street from the train tracks, there was no excessive train noise. The location was great and within a few miles proximity of the Clement's Fishing Barge where we fished daily.
Fifth, we all definitely loved the fact that the house had Wi-Fi. When we have stayed in other units closer to the fishing barge, that was never an option. To have the Wi-Fi was a great benefit, especially with a teenager in tow.
And, finally, we so appreciated the graciousness of the owners. Kelly & Judy put a "welcome" bottle of wine out on the table for our arrival. And, they made sure to stop over to introduce themselves and to see if we had any questions or concerns at all with the rental.
We will definitely look into staying at Sunset Lodge again!"

"My husband and I have been to this beautiful home three times and plan to go back next year again. It is perfect for us and we love the whole area. I especially love the sunsets almost every evening. I have taken at least a dozen pictures that I
can look at all winter. The house itself is great. It is always clean and perfect. It has a fireplace for cold weather and it has an outdoor fire pit for enjoyment. The Jacuzzi is a real plus. We could even watch the sunsets from it. The kitchen is great. It has everything a cook could possible want. I did a lot of cooking and found everything I needed. The trains do pass in back of the house but we love trains and they did not bother us. In fact there was a week with few to no trains and we missed seeing them. There are three pub/restaurant within walking distance. There is a market right down the block that carries a little of everything if you forget to bring something you need. There is a dock and fishing pier down the street for fisherman. There are some good restaurants nearby. Lansing Iowa. about ten miles away has several eating places. The Great River Road House in De Soto, Wi. about 7 miles away has a great view of the Mississippi, great food and pizza. This house is just a great get away spot."
