"We had an amazing long weekend at this clean, lovely and secluded cabin. Our cell phones worked fine, although we tried not to let too many people know that! Joel was very helpful and responsive. The kitchen had everything we needed, wood stove kept the cabin toasty warm, and the hot tub with gazebo roof was quiet and relaxing - perfect in light fall rain. The fall leaves were gorgeous, as was the scenery along the Mississippi River. A beautiful spot for a weekend away from the world!"

"My husband and I have been to this beautiful home three times and plan to go back next year again. It is perfect for us and we love the whole area. I especially love the sunsets almost every evening. I have taken at least a dozen pictures that I
can look at all winter. The house itself is great. It is always clean and perfect. It has a fireplace for cold weather and it has an outdoor fire pit for enjoyment. The Jacuzzi is a real plus. We could even watch the sunsets from it. The kitchen is great. It has everything a cook could possible want. I did a lot of cooking and found everything I needed. The trains do pass in back of the house but we love trains and they did not bother us. In fact there was a week with few to no trains and we missed seeing them. There are three pub/restaurant within walking distance. There is a market right down the block that carries a little of everything if you forget to bring something you need. There is a dock and fishing pier down the street for fisherman. There are some good restaurants nearby. Lansing Iowa. about ten miles away has several eating places. The Great River Road House in De Soto, Wi. about 7 miles away has a great view of the Mississippi, great food and pizza. This house is just a great get away spot."

Peaceful, secluded, fun warning, steps are steep for larger dogs
"We stayed last weekend and it was awesome!!!! So peaceful, secluded, away from everything!! Who can say they stayed in a caboose, we can!!!
It's is in the middle of no where, yes there are mice, you are in nature! We just made sure to put stuff away so they wouldn't be attracted to the counters no such.
We were allowed to bring our dogs, but we did not even think about them getting in, the stairs are real train stairs, hard on a pooches feet and steep, we have 3 very large dogs and they wouldn't even try the stairs, so be aware of that with dogs. We were lucky they could sleep in our van with their beds.
There are wineries and great eating places, have to drive a bit, but such beautiful country, it's a pretty drive!!
We will be back with our 2 grandchildren hopefully in the fall, loved it!!"

"My boyfriend and I met up at this cabin for a weekend, and we were really impressed. The cabin was warm, clean, spacious, and well cared for. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook. The view behind the cabin was beautiful, and we enjoyed walking by the creek. We hope to go back with a group of friends later this winter. I highly recommend staying here!"
