In Casseville, you can visit the Stonefield Historic Site that played an important role in Wisconsin's history. Just west of Mount Horeb you can visit the community known as Little Norway. Wine lovers can tour the wineries in the area. Many of the estates hold regular events and host festivals throughout the year. Some of the more well-known wineries include Spurgeon Vineyards and Winery; Wollersheim Winery; and Oakridge Vineyard and Weggy Winery. At all of these wine farms, you can sample some of their award-winning wines. Another interesting place to visit is the historic Potosi Brewing Company. The visitor center has an interesting collection of brewing memorabilia and there is also a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. The Taliesin near Spring Green was once the home and studio of well-known architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Today, students continue his legacy at the architectural school located on the grounds. The House on the Rock is one sight that must be seen. It is an architectural masterpiece.

Getting to Southwest Wisconsin Cabins

The best way to access southwest Wisconsin is by road. The area has good road links with the rest of Wisconsin as well as the neighboring states of Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. By road, it is approximately an hour's drive from the cities of Wisconsin Dells, Dubuque and Madison. The nearest major regional airport is located in Madison. Alternatively, you can also fly into Milwaukee which is just a two-hour drive away. If you cannot find a direct flight into either Madison or Milwaukee, then you may consider flying into Chicago in the neighboring state of Illinois. Even from there is it not a far drive to southwest Wisconsin. It only takes about three hours by road. If you are flying in from other destinations, you will need to hire a car to get to your vacation destination. There are several reputable rental firms located at the airports. If you are traveling in peak season, it is advisable to reserve your rental car in advance.
