  • Family wedding in town

"We were so lucky to have been able to stay in Nancy's beautiful home. By staying in a rental home instead of a hotel, we were able to relax and visit with family all weekend. The home was extremely clean and well stocked with towels and bedding. Nancy has a great sense of style, as we were surrounded with luxurious furnishings. We felt safe and secure in a quiet neighborhood. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!"

  • Perfect Family gathering place

"We needed a large place for family to gather for our daughter's wedding. A place to feel at home while being 1400 mi. from our home. This place is unpretentious, yet pleasant and inviting. A place where having small ones around does not put their parents on egg shells fearing they might break something. My only regret is that there was not more time to gather everyone for more relaxing and hanging out. But that’s how weddings go. The kitchen with its 2 islands and adjacent great room is probably over 1200 sq. ft in and of itself. Then there is still enough space throughout the rest of the house to ‘get away’ if you need a little more personal space. My only suggestion is that you bring your own portable sound system – we really needed some mood tunage! We had a number of great evenings hanging out on the deck - great place to be out doors and never be bothered by the bugs!"

  • FANTASTIC !!!!

"The booking experience was a breeze. Nicola was immediately responsive to the initial inquiry and the transaction couldn't have been easier. The location is a stones throw from I 43 and very easy to find. My first impression was WOW !!!! The first impression was not deceiving....it is an outstanding property !!!! The ambiance is of a modernized summer home of the 1930's, but I have never stayed in such a finely constructed and appointed lake home. The house was lacking nothing. Bath and a half, every kitchen utensil ever needed, lots of warm water for the whirlpool bath, killer deck, spotlessly clean , crisp clean sheets, very comfortable bed, a ton of pillows and towels, central air ( didn't need it), WIFI , TV, ( had to check the weather), grill, fire pit, and privacy.... In spite of all that, the real attraction is the Million dollar view !!!! There are large picture windows facing Lake Michigan. Fantastic !!! The pictures don't really do justice to how close the house is to the water . Neither do they really bring out the character of the house. The beach was well kept, clean, and with comfortable chairs and an umbrella. The other property renters were not close enough to be an intrusion. Only caveat is the cell phone coverage is spotty ...sometimes 4G , sometimes, no service. But what the heck , I didn't care...I was on vacation !! Text message worked. If you cant live without your cell you can hook up to the WIFI and that problem was solved. Also, they have a land line, so no obstacle to must make phone calls. In summary Barbadon was a 5 star property that I intend to re visit...."

  • Beautiful, Very Special Retreat

"We spent four wonderful days here, and were so sad to leave! This is a unique, lovingly maintained property with tremendous character. The location is perfect - it's close to "town" in Ellison Bay, yet you feel a million miles away. It's large enough to host a small family reunion (as we did), with a kitchen that begs for collaborative cooking. The firepit is the perfect spot for stargazing, and we had a lot of fun playing badminton. And the WiFi works just fine :). We loved our time at Whytefyshe, and hope to return one day."

Wisconsin Travel Tips

No matter what type of adventures you’re looking for, Wisconsin is sure to give you what you want. Thanks to its varied terrain, outdoor and indoor adventures are plentiful here, and its combination of populous cities and charming small towns makes it a great place for those looking to get away or immerse themselves in a new city’s culture. If you can’t decide which Wisconsin destination to visit, look into these cities:

Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is found in the southern part of the state near the border with Illinois. There are several restaurants in this town to enjoy, including family eateries such as Margot’s Restaurant, Popeye’s on Lake Geneva, Pier 290 and Clausing Barn Resaurant. A family meal at Pier 290 will sit you along the shores of Geneva Lake where you can enjoy the rustling of the waters as you munch on a delicious meal of American cuisine. Before you stop and eat at Clausing Barn Restaurant, be sure to take a tour of the 19th-century museum and walk through the grounds of Old World Wisconsin, where you can learn more about the state’s early beginnings of rural and immigrant life. Art lovers should stop by the many galleries and exhibits in the city, including Geneva Art Pottery, Maple Park Antiques and Lake Geneva Antique and Art Bazaar. At these locations, you can purchase items and browse through the works of local talent. If you’re really itching to visit the big city while staying in Lake Geneva, Chicago is only an hour and a half away by car.

Milwaukee

Milwaukee may be best-known for its delicious taps from breweries large and small alike, but this beautiful city also sits along the shores of Lake Michigan and features many attractions for everyone. Children will enjoy the Milwaukee County Zoo as they pick out their favorite animals. They’ll also love the science and technology at their fingertips with a trip to Discovery World, which can be found along the water in downtown Milwaukee. Many festivals come to Milwaukee year-round, and present a great opportunity for visitors to get out and explore the city on a deeper level. For a night of sports, you can venture out to cheer on the Milwaukee Bucks during basketball season or watch the Brewers outscore their visiting opponents. Adults can enjoy the Harley Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Theatre or the Miller Brewery Visitor Center and the Girl in the Moon Brewery Shop. Shopping is all over town and includes boutiques, brand name designers, an adorable farmers market and some of your favorite retail stores. A trip to Milwaukee will not only be the escape to the city you never knew you needed, but also a prime chance to enjoy yourself with a relaxing trip.

Madison

Madison is the capital of Wisconsin and home to several historic sites as well as the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Despite being a small, college city, there’s much to do in Madison, including it’s downtown area known as State Street as well as great shopping and dining destinations in the bustling Capitol Square. Don’t forget to pencil in a trip to the 100-year-old state capitol which towers over the city thanks to its gilded bronze statue. Daily tours are offered to the building’s visitors, where they can get a more in-depth look at the history behind the state and how it got to where it is today. Down the street a couple of blocks is Monona Terrace, a center designed by the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He once called nearby Taliesin home and his presence is still felt in Madison and its neighboring cities. You can take a tour of the home and stand in awe at the city and lake views from the rooftop garden, the perfect place for a picnic.

Wisconsin Dells

No matter the time of year, there’s always a water adventure to be had in Wisconsin Dells. The "water park capital of the world" has indoor and outdoor water thrills which are some of the best you'll find anywhere. There are five indoor and outdoor water park attractions open to guests during the year’s warmer and cooler months, including Chula Vista, Kalahari, Mt. Olympus, Noah’s Ark and Temple of the Black Pearl at Polynesian. Noah’s Ark is the only water park in Wisconsin Dells that is open during the summer months; however, with four others to choose from, there’s still plenty of fun to be had here. Kalahari is a safari-themed attraction that includes the uphill water rollercoaster called Master Blaster, and the family raft ride, Victoria Falls.
