"We had a great stay at this cabin, and the things that you read in the reviews here are all true. The cabin itself is lovely, well-furnished, and clean. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals if you want to eat in. The owners are very attentive and helpful -- Troy answered emails within minutes, and provided us with lots of good tips about hiking trails, things to do in town, etc. The cabin is about 10 minutes drive outside of Dubois, which is a great little town with everything we needed -- a couple of good restaurants, and a very friendly fly-fishing shop and good outdoors shop. (Fly fishing shop also coordinates fishing trips, trail rides, and float trips [the latter out of Jackson]). So: overall our stay was terrific.
One small complaint has to do with location. The cabin is located about 50 yards off the highway. It is down an embankment, so there isn't much highway noise, but the property itself is not large. This means that if you want to do anything out of doors -- even go for a stroll after dinner -- you have to get into the car and drive, either west into the national forest, or east into town. We found this a bit limiting.
That said, this cabin was a good base camp for us while we hiked in the Winds and Absarokas and fished the Wind river. The view out the living room windows can't be beat. We had a lovely time."
