  • Safe Neighborhood, great for families

"We stayed at this VRBO with 2 families, each with 1 child (7 months & 2 yrs). The neighborhood was very safe and quiet, and close to all amenities, such as groceries, shopping and golf courses (driving distances, not walking). The home was very clean and stocked with the necessities. There was also a binder with the house/pool how to’s and area information. The property management company loaned us required baby/child items. We requested a highchair, a booster seat, 2 playpens and/or 1 playpen and bed rails (both we provided) and a stroller. These items were all clean and waiting for us when we walked in to home. This was great because we didn’t need to pack or pick up/purchase when we arrived. There was also some pool toys and play toys which the kids loved. Each family had their own ‘wing’ in the house, which was great because if one of the children woke up in the night, the other family would not be disturbed. The one thing we would have prefered is king beds! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others."

  • Party of (9)

"We had a party of (9) we stayed (5) days, the cabin was clean and nice to stay in. They kept the grounds maintained. They furnished plenty sheets and towels, had a washer/dryer and dish washer which made it great. We went to a lot of shops in downtown Tryon and Hendersonville, we shopped till we dropped. There is one thing I noticed, we were all aging and didn't notice any rails going up the stairs outside or anything in the bathrooms. I do think you need to think about this, other than that everything was perfect. I would love to come back again."

  • A solid rental, but probably wouldn't stay here again.

"The positives of this house: It's a fun and interesting house, with an elevator, winding staircases, and unique layout. It's right on the beach and there is a lifeguard stand right in front of the house. It's very easy to get to all the restaurants and shops of VA Beach. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The owner/rental agent is very friendly and easy to work with. The place comes w/two boogie boards and a beach wagon (no beach chairs or toys though.) This is one of the few places in VA Beach that let's you rent outside of the typical Sat to Sat schedule. The negatives: The place could use a thorough deep cleaning. There was an underlining "ick" factor to certain areas. The 2nd floor w/two of the bedrooms was so dusty. There were huge cobwebs hanging off the ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms, and it seems like none of the statues or tables in that hallway had been dusted in awhile. You have to provide your own bedding and towels. (Easily done through a local rental agent though). However, this gives you the opportunity to see how yellow and stained the pillows are as you're putting the pillowcases on, and that is a nasty thought as you lay your head down to sleep. The white carpet in the master bedroom is heavily stained in one area. The place has a bit of a neglected, rental feel- although you can still see how grand it was in it's prime. The kitchen really needs more bowls (I think there were only 2.)"

  • Wonderful Christmas in Big Canoe

"We had a wonderful time at your home in Big Canoe. It was so spacious and worked out perfectly for our family - we could all be together having fun, but we still had our own space to retreat to when we needed a breather. :) Your home was quite comfortable and so nicely furnished. The views were absolutely beautiful. Even in winter with the bare trees, etc., we loved looking out over the valley towards the mountains in the distance. We could easily imagine how beautiful it would be to sit out there on a summer morning or evening. The children with us loved the wildlife we saw, including a family of deer and a large, red-headed woodpecker going to town on a tree behind your home. We found Big Canoe to be plenty close to amenities, including a dinner at Fuego right outside the north gate and a Christmas Eve service at Trinity Church just down the road. We also enjoyed exploring Dawsonville and took in a movie there. And on one day, we drove into Atlanta to see the aquarium. So it all worked out splendidly."
