Wonderful stay at Loon Lodge.
"We (two couples) had a wonderful time at Loon Lodge. The scenery is spectacular and the serenity of the lake and forest was just what we needed. We even had a loon on the lake in front of our cabin morning and evening. Nothing authenticates your north woods experience like the sounds of loons calling across the water. The weather turned cold and windy so we only got to eat dinner and enjoy s'mores on the dock one night. Other evenings we enjoyed the warmth and coziness of a fire in the fireplace. The cabin had all the comforts of home that we could ask for and was perfect for two couples:two roomy bedrooms, two bathrooms, and large central living room. Having wifi was great. TV reception was not great due, I think, to the rural and rustic nature of the area, which we enjoyed. Having TV is not very important to us, especially with wifi to keep informed. Traverse City is just a short jaunt away and there are a plethora of great restaurants and shopping there. Brunch at The Blue Heron or Patisserie Amie is is not to be missed. Pizza from That'sa Pizza is very good. And the cabin is just down the road from Moomer's Ice Cream! The autumn leaves were just starting to turn but it was still a pleasant, easy drive through lovely wine country with both the woods and the waters along Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is spectacular scenery as is Sleeping Bear Dune. Loon Lodge is a lovely cabin in a beautiful setting and a peaceful woodland experience. The kitchen is cozy but adequate for fixing full meals. The road back to the cabin is a little bumpy and narrow but it really verifies that you are leaving the hustle and bustle of city life behind. The lake is gorgeous and as soon as we drove up we fell in love with the cabin and setting. We hated to leave and hope to return as soon as we can. Tim provided lots of helpful information both before we got there and with the guest information. Tim also provided us with numbers to be used if needed but we did not need that. By all means, follow Tim's directions, not your GPS."

"This cabin is outstanding and the pictures don't even come close to how amazing this cabin is mountains, moose, fox, trails, fishing and a wonderful hot tub. The cabin is clean and fun to cook meals and hang out! The driveway is a bit tricky but we figured it out. Thanks for letting us stay at this beautiful cabin. The Stewarts"

"Right from the start it was wonderful! Loved everything about the property. For a fist time "VRBO" user - it was perfect. It exceeded the needs of my family which consists of 4 adults. Easily walk to plenty of dining in Venice. And typical charge on uber to Santa monica was $6ish give or take. Venice beach was a little rough around the edges but provides lots of entertainment for people watching. Overall I was very pleased!"
