"We came here for 3 nights in April 2015. The property is nicely located with direct access to the locally-known "Hobbit Trail" and has a distant, unobstructed ocean view (visible in the VRBO photos).
We found the property to be clean and well-appointed, but odd in some unexpected ways, which the pics do not show well. For one, the bathroom is tiny, sans fan, with literally no space between the toilet and the wall on one side; definately could use some updates. Another was the heating situation on the main floor - basically the fireplace or a ceiling-mounted heater in the dining room. It worked, but took us a bit to figure out how best to keep things comfortable.
The upstairs bedroom is large and attractive with lots of natural light - clearly a new addition or recently updated. The bed has a comfortable memory foam mattress and is a giant king, but as a result, is sagging in the middle (looks like they tried to reinforce it underneath but didn't quite provide enough support). The other bedroom was also large with a king, and comfortable per my mother (who stayed 2 nights).
There were lots of movies provided (DVD and VHS, I believe), and board games as well. The main living area is small but comfortable, there's a large dining room table, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils/etc. No pet smell though dogs are allowed (which as dog-owners, we appreciated). And the owner was friendly and responsive when contacted.
All in all a decent place, just no real "wow-factor," so to speak."

"We stayed here while some work was being done on our house. The house is near downtown and right around the corner from the Propeller Brewery which is convenient! The house is an older home but has a lot of charm with old floors, high ceilings, and moldings which was cool especially if you live in a more modern place. The house is across the street from the huge skating Oval for winter use (with free skates), and the Halifax Common, although not very green in the winter. Even though it was winter we used the BBQ in the backyard a lot... it would be amazing in summer as it is sheltered and private. We used only two bedrooms but all were well equipped. I saw a note about beds... the beds were fine and it appears that the one my wife and I used appeared brand new (plastic on box spring). The washer and dryer worked great and there is a great ice cream/burrito/coffee spot call DeeDee's around the corner. We had friends drop in a fair bit and this place is great for entertaining by itself and because it's right by all the restos/bars/events downtown. We parked mainly on the street and used the owners driveway next door and had no problem at all. The owners were available on phone/text all the time and helped with any questions or anything we needed. Overall, a great time, and while we were glad to get home, I would recommend to anyone, especially groups and those in town for weddings/events."

"Our family of 2 adults and 2 children enjoyed our vacation at Sunset Cottages. Condo was as described and pictured, easy access to the beach, enjoyed the condo complex pool location, with outside bathrooms and the shower to remove the beach sand. The rear condo deck made watching our 13 yr old grandson easy while he was in the pool. The front deck had two comfortable chairs to set and drink morning coffee and view the amazing Emerald Gulf. The beach and water were beautiful!! HUGE closet in bedroom, all the right small kitchen appliances and tools to prepare meals. The Harbor Dock Restaurant in Destin was delicious for dinner as usual. We enjoyed the Ft. Walton Beach "Billy Bones" week-end celebration and parade. I would suggest discarding or replacing the small glass table on the rear deck due to poor condition and adding an inside security lock chain at the front door. Our 2 1/2 year old grandson attempted (never succeeded) to open the door on several occasions. Just concerned grandparents. Thanks for another great summer vacation on Okaloosa Island!"

"Charming vacation cottage! Loved the cleanliness, the gardens, hot tub and privacy!
The owners are very thoughtful. In case you may have forgotten something, you just may find it in this "home away from home"!
We had a wonderful time in Redondo Beach, and would definitely want to stay here on our next visit!
Thanks for all of your hospitality, Pam and Bill!"
